First off,
Hey, nice to meet ya'll, I'm Joe!
I've been lurking on the forums for quite a while now and have decided to register to get in on the fun. I haven't really collected cards since my youth (88-94ish) and I'm a little out of touch with how things have changed. I'm a big fan of the certified on-card autos, but all of the other patches and parallels just don't do it for me. I've been looking around for a set to attempt to complete, something that isn't easy or outrageously expensive. I've decided on 1956 Topps in a psa 6. I'm still at the very beginning stages and was hoping I could get some advice on a few things.
1) Would it be better to buy pregraded or try to send in a few myself. By no means am I an expert on the different grades so I'm afraid I'll end up with alot of psa 5's that I would have to replace.
2) Where would be the best place to buy from, casually. Right now I've been using the Bay, but any other advice would be appreciated.
3) Storage: Right now I'm just using an oversized version of the classic white cardboard boxes. This seems fine but just how durable are these psa cases.
4) Is there anything I should be concerned with or watch out for?
In short I wanted to say hi, and get some opinions.
Thanks and take care.
