getting more of? This is in regards to football as an investment:

I am going with Bears. The skilled position player cards are going to really blow up this year:

Earl Bennett
Greg Olsen
Jay Cutler
Matt Forte

Tough first game in green bay, but they will still be able to put up some numbers in game one.

Thoughts?

I think Josh Morgan is going to have a good year depending on the QB.His Contenders autos are dirt cheap right now. They could easily double if he catches 10 td's.

Morgan started to go up slightly towards the start of preseason....For some reason I think Beanie Wells is gonna have a decent game early in the season and his stuff will explode.

I thought about Wells at one point then thought that Donald Brown was a much safer investment. I may be dead wrong however.....or just bias seeing I am from CT.

Brown's stuff has done much better than I ever thought it would....I think it helped him alot going to the Colts, I haven't actively collected a rookie since JLH back in 07. I was going to go with Arian Foster, kinda glad I didnt since he got cut

Not only that he is going to the Colts, but more so the fact that Addai can be easily replaced.....unlike him being drafted by say Vikings or San Diego or even Atlanta.........I have been buying Brown's Topps Premiere autos since that is the best one he has.........He will have over 150 carries this year and will have his share of big games and possibly replace Addai by midseason.

I don't think Forte stuff will "explode" since it's damn high already.
I'm kicking myself for not getting more Ray Rice. He's starting for the Ravens and I feel like no one realizes that.

Ok I know the Raiders aren't anything more than a laughing stock, but any thoughts to Darren McFadden's stuff? I have a little stash and it seemed like his stuff was going to blow up bigger than AP's but lately all I see is his stuff TANKING! Any thoughts/ideas to why and whether it'll get any better?

I agree here, but I think the reason he has been overlooked is because of the committee-type backfield they have & that will keep him from being a work-horse type back (McGahee/McClain/Rice...I think I'm forgetting someone, maybe not?). :D

I think there's a real good chance his values improve. When you have that kind of talent with card prices that are bottoming out, a couple of big runs and wins for Oakland should push his prices up at least 10-20%.

Greg Olsen. Not for investment purposes, but because I expect a great year and it will cost me more to add new stuff into my Hurricanes collection.

Josh Morgan. Everybody's saying he's going to have a breakout year, so it would be a good investment. We'll see though, I'm not one to gamble when I only have limited funds. I'd rather just go with PC stuff.

Tim Rattay. The future AFL 2009 MVP...Hey, it can happen!

Rattay is the only 7th-round or undrafted quarterback since 1995 (out of a pool of 30 such players) to pass for more than 400 yards in a game. Tom Brady, who also accomplished this feat, was a 6th round pick in 2000, [10]

Rattay broke the San Francisco team record for the most completions in a game, breaking Joe Montana's record of 37.[citation needed]

Rattay is the only quarterback in NFL history who has thrown 3 consecutive passes all going for touchdowns, as he did for the 2007 Arizona Carindals. [11]

He was responsible for the biggest comeback in Buccaneers history when he led the team to four touchdowns, throwing for 3 in the 4th quarter and sending the game against the NFC Champions Chicago Bears into overtime.

Earl Bennett isn't good. Olsen is a TE and even Gates' cards never got that high when he had the greatest TE season ever. Cutler and Forte are already pretty high, need a Super Bowl to reach decent profit levels.

Everyone loves Josh Morgan & Kevin Smith. I don't get it.

For Morgan to jump, he'll need big numbers and wins... I like his talent, but Shaun Hill is not going to put up huge numbers and the niners aren't going to win that many games.

As for Kevin Smith, who seemingly everyone loves this year for some reason. In the NFL, you need the pass to open up the run and the Lions are lead by a rookie QB and are, in general, not very good... Doesn't look good for the running game.
