Same here. Ever since I heard the news this morning, I couldn't stop thinking about it.Adamsince1981 said:I was going to write something extremely negative and condemning of the murderer Gallo.
But, I thought I'd just say that this has hit me a little harder than I expected. It has been on my mind all day and it simply breaks my heart. I'm not sure if its because I'm a new father or what the deal is...I'm just emotional.
I don't own a single card of his, didn't follow his career, and didn't even know he made the Angels rotation. But, last night, I was rocking my son and I noticed Adenhart's name on ESPN's bottom line and I just remember being happy for the little guy that was pictured in his shirt and tie for his Elite RC.
Next thing I know he is gone...it is senseless and I hate that stuff like this happens.
You were the first person I thought about when I saw the thread.THREADKILLER-crohrer said:boxbreaker44 said:I first heard the new many hours ago but am I the only one who is still finding this hard to even think about.
No. I found out this morning from a mutual friend that graduated with him. her dad woke her up to tell her the bad news and then she called me. I was sick to my stomach all day. Too many young people dying!!!
Me too...I found them on the RIP Nick Adenhart Facebook group.Adamsince1981 said:Hallsgator,
Thanks for the nice pics...although they make me even more sad.

Sell them now, while they are at their peak, BUT give the money to a charity of some kind.
It will give his death some meaning, especially if many people do this.
It's better than waiting until the cards sell for nothing.

Can't you set it up so half the payment automatically goes to a charity? I always see some sort of charity option when i sell things.

yes but it's a big ordeal and you have to sign up through another site. i am just selling them as is, w/out listing the charity. regardless of what they sell for all of the proceeds minus fees and what i have invested into them will go to charity...preferably a memorial fund of some sort

At least with me, I can control it this way and make sure it gets there. =]
