No. I found out this morning from a mutual friend that graduated with him. her dad woke her up to tell her the bad news and then she called me. I was sick to my stomach all day. Too many young people dying!!!

I was going to write something extremely negative and condemning of the murderer Gallo.

But, I thought I'd just say that this has hit me a little harder than I expected. It has been on my mind all day and it simply breaks my heart. I'm not sure if its because I'm a new father or what the deal is...I'm just emotional.

I don't own a single card of his, didn't follow his career, and didn't even know he made the Angels rotation. But, last night, I was rocking my son and I noticed Adenhart's name on ESPN's bottom line and I just remember being happy for the little guy that was pictured in his shirt and tie for his Elite RC.

Next thing I know he is gone...it is senseless and I hate that stuff like this happens.
Same here. Ever since I heard the news this morning, I couldn't stop thinking about it.

You were the first person I thought about when I saw the thread.

I have a suggestion for anyone wondering what to do with his cards.

Sell them now, while they are at their peak, BUT give the money to a charity of some kind.

It will give his death some meaning, especially if many people do this.

It's better than waiting until the cards sell for nothing.

Hallsgator,

Thanks for the nice pics...although they make me even more sad.
Me too...I found them on the RIP Nick Adenhart Facebook group.

This just like a bad dream. It's almost unbelievable, but I guess that's because we usually think of athletes as being invincible. So when something like this happens, it's devastating.

Can't you set it up so half the payment automatically goes to a charity? I always see some sort of charity option when i sell things.

yes but it's a big ordeal and you have to sign up through another site. i am just selling them as is, w/out listing the charity. regardless of what they sell for all of the proceeds minus fees and what i have invested into them will go to charity...preferably a memorial fund of some sort

i found out while i was at the gym this morning watching the yankee game. It showed a clip. And the first thing i thought of was FCB and prospecting threads with this guys name in them. It was a shock because i realized i watched this kid pitch the night before when he was blanking my A's. It is very sad. Just a tragedy. My prayers go out to his family.
