8-1 era under 3, just made the Giants look like a JV womens squad. I can't see how anyone can vote any other
way.

I think you could vote Freeman, Kimbrel, and Espinosa in front of him. With that being said Worley has been awesome through 13 starts.

of course I am biased, but I still think great pitching is more impressive than great hitting. I mean...8-1

Win/loss means nothing. And hitters play every day as opposed to pitchers.

He's started 13 games and only 7 have been quality starts.

That said, if he keeps this up he should be ROY. DIRTBAGS!

Craigkimbrel has had more effect on his teams record than worley

and no, he only pitches one inning a game.

Yea, maybe in the 80s when people though W-L records meant something.

I understand we shouldn't base a pitcher only on their win loss record and I know Felix winning the CY last season makes me think we've downgraded the stat and it's level of importance. I know that the statistic is based heavily on the amount of run support you get, but let's not forget that winning pitchers win ball games, they make big pitches when they need to, they keep their team in the game and pitch long enough, often to get the 1-2 runs they need, and they are competitors, they want to win. I know it's not a tell-tale stat of a pitchers performance. But let's not disregard it completely.

Yes, please disregard it. It's worthless. All that other stuff you mentioned can be measured with much better metrics.

Runs in the 9th inning are worth 2.5X more than those that Worley protects.

The misleading thing about using WAR is the fact that if Kimbrel were traded tomorrow, he would be replaced with a player with a higher WAR in Venters. Don't think WAR makes a particularly stronger case for Kimbrel in this instance, because if it's all about value to team, he would be more valuable not closing games according to that statistic.

Lol at the notion that saves aren't important

I like Worley, but Freeman and Kimbrel have been very good for the whole year. Worley has a long way to go to get into the ROY conversation, though it looks like he will get some votes.
