8-1 era under 3, just made the Giants look like a JV womens squad. I can't see how anyone can vote any other
way.

of course I am biased, but I still think great pitching is more impressive than great hitting. I mean...8-1

That being said, VW has been awesome.

Craigkimbrel has had more effect on his teams record than worley
Yea, maybe in the 80s when people though W-L records meant something.schmidtfan20 said:of course I am biased, but I still think great pitching is more impressive than great hitting. I mean...8-1

and no, he only pitches one inning a game.
Yes, please disregard it. It's worthless. All that other stuff you mentioned can be measured with much better metrics.Zymco said:I understand we shouldn't base a pitcher only on their win loss record and I know Felix winning the CY last season makes me think we've downgraded the stat and it's level of importance. I know that the statistic is based heavily on the amount of run support you get, but let's not forget that winning pitchers win ball games, they make big pitches when they need to, they keep their team in the game and pitch long enough, often to get the 1-2 runs they need, and they are competitors, they want to win. I know it's not a tell-tale stat of a pitchers performance. But let's not disregard it completely.
Runs in the 9th inning are worth 2.5X more than those that Worley protects.jgro85 said:cgilmo said:of course I am biased, but I still think great pitching is more impressive than great hitting. I mean...8-1
