Wonder if this means future Bowman products will follow suit. Obviously, most will prefer HTA Jumbos to retail, but one could assume this will equate to overproduction in Hobby. I for one hope this will not happen.

This is good for the hobby. Dealers tend to do very well with Bowman products, and Draft doesn't promote current MLBers, so having retail exposure isn't really necessary. Topps will probably continue releasing regular Bowman to retail outlets (unless the sales are poor) since it has a standard base set.

Should be the end of the BDP line.

Good idea to condense them. no need for

Bowman
Bowman Chrome

AND

Bowman D&P

What are you talking about? They're not condensing anything. And there is no way they would discontinue the BDP line.

Keep draft hobby, make the Pro Debut and Minors Heritage featured in retail. Could be a big $$ maker including with kids and TTMs.

This product simply doesn't make sense to the overwhelming number of people who casually buy cards. Pro Debut just makes a lot more sense, but not enough people know anything about the MiLB.

This sucks as I don't have any card stores within 45 miles from my house

So, how was the draft class? Any worldbeaters? I have a juicy allocation of hobby cases before me, and Topps is making no promises regarding jumbo cases. What would you guys do? I tried to presell some cases cheap here but Gilmo said it was too early as it doesn't release until November. Oh, decisions, decisions...

It's actually a rather crappy draft class this year.

Its all about paypal dispute time.

If you flaked, the buyer would have no recourse.

This sucks. I don't want to be forced into paying $5 a pack or driving 25 minutes(at the least) to buy something. I'd rather be able to go to wally world or Target and pick it up at my leisure. This is a dumb idea. Trust me...sometimes, keeping things in both retail and hobby is necessary. I'm certainly not going to a shop to buy this. I'll just have them make my ass a set. Sorry.

Same here, except it's more like an hour drive, each way.

Before long everything is going to be Hobby Exclusive except for Base Topps. That'll sure be nice!

Easily one of the worst posts I have ever read on this board. There are 10 topps baseball products a year that are vet/hof driven... most of them are fairly horrible. The Bowman line of Bowman, Chrome and Draft are many many many peoples favorite releases. Myself included.
