Ok, enough of these threads about top prospects, blue chippers, first rounders with amazing pedigrees...let's dumpster dive and take a look at Indians minor leaguer (not "Indians prospect") Matt McBride.
Currently playing AA ball for the Akron Aeros, McBride started off the season slowly. Very slow. April through June had him hitting roughly .255 with only 6 HR and a weak OPS in the .710 range.
Now here we are with July winding down and McBride has been on a tear during the month's 23 games. He's hit .364 this month with with 11 HR and a big boy 1.271 OPS.
So what does the future hold for this 25-year-old...probably not much more than the hope of bench time on a MLB club...but I felt he deserved the mention.
