NWL Action for tonight, and a question

The Stingers are sitting in the lone position in 1st! The River Bats were not able to play, as Joe Faber Field was probably flooded... I was in St. Cloud (rocking the Stingers Jersey) and I had to pull to the side of the road because of the massive downpour.

We are reaching the final weekend of play. Playoffs start on Tuesday. It will be either the Stingers or River Bats taking on the Honkers for North Division play. Eau Claire won both halves so I don't know who plays them for the South Division spot.

I will be attending all home games at Bill Taunton Stadium for the Stingers. I still need a couple autos of the guys and I don't want my season to end quite yet.

Here is my question, what other summer collegiate leagues are there besides Cape Cod and Northwoods?

Having a summer league within driving distance is always a plus because promotions are top notch. Some of the popular ones that have former MLB coaches and are scouted heavily by former players.

I knew there were some... but I didn't know how many. I had only heard of 2.

On our team, we have the D-2 player of the year (he was actually a Willmar native, which makes that cooler) and there is draft-talk about him. We were supposed to have 2 former draft picks, but only one of them is still with us, Carter Bell was selected to play for team Canada this year so he left. Cedric Pomerlee is still around.

We have a 2009 Under Armor All-American Baseball Player (Issac Ballou).

Some promos that we had:
Opening Night (First franchise game ever) Paul Molitor threw the first pitch and signed for everyone.
Twins Night -Tony Oliva signed and threw out the first pitch (I missed this one...)
Gopher Night - Kevin Lynch and Aaron Barber were on hand to sign and throw out the first pitch (rained out)
AWA Night - Sgt. Slaughter on hand to sign and throw out the first pitch (I missed this one)
James Best Night (not actual promo name) - Roscoe P. Coltrane on hand to sign and throw out first pitch (I missed this one but I made his appearance before it)
Trading card night - 250 sets of cards produced, I missed out on the promo though...

It sure is an exciting league. This is my first year going to games. I have been to 8 games this year alone... next year will be more...

I found out about it when my dad brought home a Mankato Moondogs schedule and I saw that they had Curtis Granderson Bobble Head Night, he played in the league with Mankato's old team.
