and was shocked at the price ? It could be a signed hot dog wrapper or a free bobblehead. I like stories like this because it motivates me to list items on Ebay that I consider junk.

Columbus Clippers had cowbell night when I attended a few years ago. I listed it, thinking I'd get like $2-$3 for it, but it ended up getting $18 dlvd for it.

I know I've been on the buying end

Guy listed a Danville braves bobble head gold-plated. Guy said that only 5-10% of the print run (1000) was gold (from what he saw people in the stands holding) and expected it to sell around $20.

I ended up winning for $112 :? Only one I've seen to date.

I have had a couple. One was a Yankees Stadium giveaway which was a 61* movie baseball hat that I sold for $56 and the other was a Ted Williams pillow case from his camp from the 60s I think. I got that one at a garage sale for $1 and sold it for something like $45.

I sold these 1950's square audio records to a collector I contacted through ebay. Got around 200.00 for ten or so. But I am sure I could have got more if I tried.

The records, although I have never played them, were supposedly the player speaking and were players like Mantle, Spahn, Mazeroski, and so on.

a world series program with Mets/Tigers on the cover and Mets player info inside. That year the world series was Cardinals/Tigers. It was a pre-made program i guess. I dont know how many were out there but i havent seen one at all since and i wish i never sold it.

I found a framed Baseball All America Award from the early 1950's from a player from Bowdoin College... I got about $80 for it even though it was slightly water damaged. Paid a few dollars for it at a thrift store.

If that is indeed legit(which it totally appears to be) that wasn't a dumb thing to do at all.Trust me...I about crapped my pants when I found out the Roy Oswalt tractor Bobble heads were selling for as much as they were.I had three of them and gave one away for free.Whenever I go to a game I take at least one person with me.So I always get at least one extra. Some of these stadium give aways can go for big bucks.I see a lot of people just buying really cheap tickets, getting bobble heads...and then leaving. They don't even go to the game itself.I couldn't make any money like this of course but if its a highly anticipated bobble head(like the Roy Oswalt one was) I could see you making some big bucks.Especially if you purchased 4 really crappy tickets, dropped somebody off to wait in line for a little while, and then came back 10 minutes prior to them opening the gates(to avoid paying for parking) and then nabbing 4 or 5 of them(however many people you bring with you).

I have even had my local shop owner ask me if I had any doubles I wanted to part with but I neglected to do so.He said he'd pay good money for them which leads me to believe he was able to sell them for decent money. But most of my extras go to my cousin and her fiancee.Hell...about 95% of the autographs and astros related stuff they own is from me!And they love the astros yet I am the only one that can ever seem to make it out to one of the auto events or a game.Odd how that works... ::facepalm::

Cal Ripken glass from McDonald's... $45

You'd be surprised what some of the glasses are worth from some of these fast food joints.I know a fella who sells a lot of his glasses on ebay and makes a pretty nice chunk doing it.Whenever they are selling them or giving them away at the McDonalds or BK or any other place he will go and buy a set or two and sit on them for a while and then sell them.Oddly enough he makes more than he spent.

Another big thing(albeit non sports related) is the happy meal toys.I have seen people pay some nice chunks of change for some of the happy meal or kids meal toys.

Agreed; I made good money buying Michael Jordan McDonalds Happymeal Stopwatches and flipping them at Baseball card shows.

Also, I went through a box of books of matches from Michael Jordan's restaurant... $5.00 a pop.
