Good for the Hawks locking him up. Not sure if he's worth $60 million, but he's damn talented that's for sure.
Compared to the Joe Johnson contract, this is a great deal, and it's the same that Joakim Noah is getting paid. The only problem is that the Hawks proabably won't be able to re-sign Jamal Crawford.

Yeah, but compared to Joe Johnson's contract most all contracts look good. :P

I think Horford is legit and you have to secure a guy like that for the long term. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Hawks were stupid for paying him. Just a little on the expensive side when you're already paying Josh Smith $12.4 million next season and Joe Johnson another $18 million. That's $42 million locked up between the three of them. Is it worth spending that much money for those three guys? I guess we'll see.
The Joe Johnson deal seems really stupid, but I'm sure a team like the Knicks would have offered a max deal, and the Hawks needed him back...or I'm just trying to make myself feel better about the deal.

John Wall almost with a triple double with steals as the third category. May even get the unfortunate quadruple double with a few more turnovers.

I don't blame the Hawks for giving Johnson the money he got. Was he worth that kind of money? No. Was he going to get more elsewhere unless the Hawks overpaid him? Hell yes. So they did what they had to do to keep him. That's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

I'll put off worries about the contract/money stuff for later as the Hawks are 4-0, baby! We haven't played the best of teams, but starting out 4-0 is still a huge confidence boost.
Marvin Williams had 22pts on 8-12 shooting (5-6 from FT line) with 4 rebounds and 2 assists and a steal. I'm glad Marvin is actually getting some touches this year under Larry Drew.

I like the Hawks talent. Bunch of young guys with loads of talent and they know how to play together. The problem is by the time the Celtics/Magic/Heat are no longer top contenders in the East the Hawks won't have that same group of young talent. So it's not really going to get them anywhere in the long run. Do I think they will continue to be a playoff time? Most definitely. Are they going to win the Eastern Conference in the next 5 years? I don't see it happening.

Rondo does it again. 9/3/17 with 4 steals. I've never enjoyed watching a basketball player as much as I enjoy watching Rondo.

Averaging 16 assists games, he's been borderline superstarrish.

Now, John Wall, wow. Saw the highlights from the game. Amazingly quick first step, faster then Iverson's (which was EASILY one of the best first steps in the HISTORY of the game). Amazing defensive player, but, yeah, turns the ball over a ton.

Also, Josh Smith with ANOTHER 5 block game. He is averaging 4 blocks a game right now. Early candidate for DPOY.

The defending world champions with another ho-hum blowout. The real test will be tomorrow against the Kings in Sacramento. Historically the Lakers are bad in back-to-back games, especially with the second game on the road.

Anybody confused by the Grizzle giving Conley $8 Million a year for 5 years?

Nice player, sure, but why sign him for that much? That's the NBA in 2006 type money, not smart at all. That's why some teams continually fail.

First, it's closer to 17 at 16.8, so let's take that into account.

2nd, he's averaging 10.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and 2.5 steals to go along with that 16.8 assists. If that's borderline superstar then I give up. The kid is never going to get the respect he deserves.

Interesting, last night was the first time since 3/19/04 that Lebron James didn't pull down a rebound in a game he's played in.

I think they wanted to lock in all the key pieces from their 40 win team, while making it a little harder to resign Mayo and Gasol.

I think this is the year Conley puts it all together. He has the last few years finished strong. He has actually looked very good early this season which is a first for him

A little surprised the defending world champions did so well last night, it's looking kinda easy for them so far.
