The Joe Johnson deal seems really stupid, but I'm sure a team like the Knicks would have offered a max deal, and the Hawks needed him back...or I'm just trying to make myself feel better about the deal.Weimer said:Wehttam6 said:Compared to the Joe Johnson contract, this is a great deal, and it's the same that Joakim Noah is getting paid. The only problem is that the Hawks proabably won't be able to re-sign Jamal Crawford.Weimer said:Good for the Hawks locking him up. Not sure if he's worth $60 million, but he's damn talented that's for sure.
Yeah, but compared to Joe Johnson's contract most all contracts look good.![]()
I think Horford is legit and you have to secure a guy like that for the long term. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Hawks were stupid for paying him. Just a little on the expensive side when you're already paying Josh Smith $12.4 million next season and Joe Johnson another $18 million. That's $42 million locked up between the three of them. Is it worth spending that much money for those three guys? I guess we'll see.
