Hmmm...never been to a Sun Times show, but I happen to be in Chicagoland at around the same time.
Who from the FCB staff will be at this one?

Me, Phillyfan, and Masonphillip from the looks of things.

Guess for $10 it's worth the trek on the CTA - even if I most likely won't have much/if any money to spend.

You should also look into going to the big New England show at the Shriners Auditorium (Nov. 5, 6 & 7). The biggest annual show in the region, lots of great guests and it draws dealers from all over the country.

www.gbscc.com (although the info there is very sparse)

I'm only doing the sun times show to scout out the venue for the next national.

Nice. A little advanced scouting by the FCB brass. So the National is confirmed for Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont? That makes it easy for those of us flying in.

How does this show compare to the National? In terms of modern cards in particular.... I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the selection in Baltimore this year.

Expect it to be about the same.

I can't wait for the National next year. I'll have an extra week of vacation, and will be using some of that to spend the entire time up there. I might even suck it up and buy a VIP pass. Couldn't hurt. My girlfriend is due with my first child at the end of November, so I won't be making it up for this one. Plus is usually falls on the same date as the Michigan - OSU game so I end up going to the show and finding someone with the game on in their booth. Told the girlfriend she needs to have this kid before the 27th so I can watch the game in somewhat peace. Or the TV will be on in the delivery room. :)

Edit - And Chicago is the greatest city in the country. Even in the winter.

My car lost the water pump, timing chain, and cooked the motor on the way home from the show that year. I did well selling my Brandon Jennings Exquisites, just a week after he had the double nickle game. Helped pay for the repairs.

Last years show was good for me, I been there in previous years and did so so.

If the autograph guests are good I usually try to swing down across the border for the Sun Times shows. Hopefully it'll be worth the trip this fall.

Yeah, that's what I'm waiting on as well.

If nothing else I'll just settle for Mr. Gilmore's auto. I want a photo op with auto actually.
