sharpie hold up my howie kendrick is fading but at least they didnt put stickers on it(cough, cough*topps letterman football*cough, cough) but sharpie holds up. i saw an ernie banks that looks like it was signed right then and there. the only reason is if it is not signed at ud, why wont an athlete sign with the nearest pen.

I pulled this out of a pack about two years after the product was released. Needless to say the card never saw the light of day until opening and this is how it came out of the pack. I sent it back to UD who promptly sent the card back to me along with two packs of sweet spot and a note telling me that they wouldn't replace the card. They stated that too much time had elapsed and that had I sent it sooner they might have done something about it. The dumbest thing to me was that they were accepting redemption's on the product when I sent the card back so the product was still "live" yet they "couldn't" do anything about my card. The card was the second biggest hit out of the case I busted and I get essentially nothing for it. I haven't opened a pack of UD since nor will I.

I remember this happened to another person, he signed the card with a expletive towards UD and the card sold for 2x what it normally went... You would think they would rush to get this off the market, people could sign anything they want and its "certified" by UD.

Its a shame because I really like the way a Sweet Spot card looks, but the many cases like this that I've seen like these really influence my spending on these. I've NEVER bought a pack, box, tin or any other package of Sweet Spot, only a few singles here and there.

Color me lucky, but My Ripkens in my sig still look great.
Haven't seen them in 9 months, but I'll take a peak at them in about 2 weeks. :)

I'd be pissed if my glove sig ever faded. Paid some good coin for it! 08/15

Blame Nolan for the auto being upside down. Remember last year Phil Hughes showed pics of his Sweet Spots, and they actually mailed him the entire cards to sign. So, unless they did it differently for Nolan, he just signed them incorrectly.

The sweet spot autos that have fading problems are 2004 and 2005 glove autos and EVERYTHING from 2007 - especially classic (unless the athlete happened to sign with a sharpie). I have well over 100 faded autos from 2007 sweet spot and some are already completely faded away, while others are not exposed to any sunlight and look more or less fine. The 2008 ones look to be better, so hopefully it was just a failed experiment in 2007 . . .

It was a different ball hide used in 2007.You all know what a real major league ball feels like.Well...the ones they used are the same kind you can get at target that have the plastic hide feel to them. The same kind we all warn people not to get IP autos of players on.They fade.I know...I have a few that are fading fast because I forgot to bring an official MLB ball to the park a few times and I ended up buying the $6 ball at the gift shop...I didn't want to pay their $20 for a MLB ball and I am now seeing extreme fading in the autos.A mistake I will never make again.Luckily the best auto I have like this is just a Brad Lidge. The others are mostly no namers.

I am sure upper deck knows about the problem but hopefully they did different for 2008.The only tin I busted had a jersey card in it so I have no idea if they changed the material. If not...I again will not be buying any of the autos.
