I've been looking at his auctions. Way too high a buy in for me. I'll admit to not being in the prospecting way when Price was lighting it up his so/jr years, but I do remember Strasburg autos being both hardish to come by and highly priced. Of course, his only autos were between his soph/jr year so there was no concern for market saturation as there is with Rodon and Panini being an unpredictable card in the field. Plus, with Stras he had the three digit velocity which seems to be, as BG would put it "sexy in the eyes of collectors". Rodon Ks a lot, but that might not be enough. There is also, for me, a concern of Matt Purke-itis and the fact that Carlos is a hefty kid for whom weight might become an issue.
These are, of course, relatively minor concerns. But, when packaged with the high buy in, I'm sitting this year out (both because of concerns about the player and concerns about Panini).
If I were the sort that didn't mind putting out $50 for an auto of the kid, I'd wait until I know he isn't going USA again. As of now, I'm buying a different Sophomore lefty who is putting up similarly great numbers against arguably better competition...
