Hello? Are we back in the thread,
I thought this was a good start. All right, let's get this thread going. GWYNN:grin: fan's need to post their cards and say what they have her. Here's a challenge, I want everyone who is a real GWYNN:wink: collector to name the cards they have out of the five I will list and if you have more than one, say so but not how many. Because if you are a true GWYNN collector you will have all five. There are 3 additional ones I will list for bonus points. Ok here we go. Also, if you don't know that this cards exist and have never seen them, then rethink your want lists.
1. 1997 Topps Stars All-Stars- More than 1
2. 1999 Skybox premium Intimidation Nation- More than 1
3. 1999 Uppper deck Quantum leap- More than 1
4. 1999 Upper deck clearly dominant- Yes
5. 1998 fleer tradition date with destiny- Yes

Okay... I am not sure where you are going with this. You are the best Gwynn collector. You are #1 ! So I think the challenge is over. Not sure why we NEED a challenge. Instead, why not just share pictures of your cards? There are not as many Gwynn collectors as you may think, but people around here may enjoy seeing some of those rare Gwynns! I would! Congrats on being the best Gwynn collector around!!

Yeah, that sucks. This will go away after a few weeks. Luckily, Gwynn was prolific signer and one of the nicest guys out. There's more than enough autographs out there.

Im not a Gwynn collector but respect him as a player and person. Sadly he's gone now and he did what ever was asked of him from MLB, the HOF and those associated with him. With him, it wasnt about the $$$, it was about his love for the game!

Finally got my final Topps Sterling base card today. You know those ones numbered to 250, and there's 8-10 per player per year. Finally bucked up and bought one for about twice what I wanted to pay ($4 compared to $2). Feels good, though!

Hello Gwynn Collectors!!

I'll spare the introduction, but I will mention that I hale from 23 years of Ken Griffey Jr collecting and have just now, after 18 years (1997), had an epiphany!!

As you all know, the 1997 New Pinnacle Interleague Encounters card (#3) features Griffey Jr on the front and Mr Tony Gwynn on the back. What this means is that the press plates for our respective collections only feature our player for 4 of the plates. Mine would be all 4 fronts and yours would be all the backs!!! Or vise versa depending on how you look at it!

I'm kinda geekin' out on this right now, but basically what I'm getting at, is that I could essentially do 1 of 2 things: 1. Cross 4 cards off my list. 2. Cross over to the Gwynn side and reach out to all the Gwynn collectors to see if they would be willing to sell their press plate, assuming anyone of you had it!!

I must apologize for the long message and for my rambling and ask that if any of you know where I can find those 4 press plates, either for cataloging or sales purposes, I would be much obliged.

I don't know why, but I love the press plates from 97 and have quite a few of Junior from that year.
