Still a couple of weeks away, but news trickles out here and there, so if I can post stuff to let folks know, I'll try as I find it. Latest news involves Autograph restrictions.

From the Twins website---
Autograph Restrictions:

Bert Blyleven
•Will sign flat items, only personalized baseballs and specialty items signed by multiple players (Homer Hankies, prints, programs, etc.)
•No bats, jerseys or HOF inscriptions
Rod Carew
•No bats, jerseys or game-used items
Joe Mauer
•No game-used items
Justin Morneau
•No game-used items

No HOF inscriptions from Bert? Someone must have signed him to an exclusive already. No bats is new, too. Rod hasn't been signing bats for a long time. Anyone know why Morneau and Mauer won't sign GU items? Another contract thing?

The HOF inscription part I find odd, but contractual obligations seem to be the most likely.

Re: "Official" Twinsfest info and news thread.

Would anyone be interested in getting me a Carew auto or three (I'm more than happy with one, but if you can get three that would be great).

I'm going to miss this year ... again. Was at one of the first ones in 1992, but that was the last one I was at. I don't miss the winter weather and mosquitos in MN, but I miss pretty much everything else.

Can't wait to go either! If you have an extra ticket, we need one.

I plan on just nabbing the prospects (especially Kyle Knudson) and going through the show and pro-shops.

Can anyone tell me who is going to be in the free line?

Auto prices will probably fall like this:

Free
Joe Benson, David Bromberg, Robert Delaney, David Deminnsky, Cole DeVries, Scott Diamond, Mark Dolenc, Kyle Gibson, Carlos Gutierrez, Eric Hacker, Nate Hanson, BJ Hermsen, Aaron Hicks, Kyle Knudson,, Derek McCallum, Chris Parmelee, Ben Revere, Matt Schuld, Rene Tosoni, Kyle Waldrop, Alex Wimmers

$5-10 Tables:
Scott Baker, Nick Blackburn, Alex Burnett, Drew Butera, Matt Capps, Brian Duensing, Jim Hoey, Jason Kubel, Jeff Manship, Pat Neshek, Glen Perkins, Trevor Plouffe, Jason Repko, Anthony Slama, Kevin Slowey, Denard Span, Rick Stelmaszek, Anthony Swarzak, Matt Tolbert, Danny Valencia, Joe Vavra, Jerry White.

$15-20 Tables:
Michael Cuddyer, Ron Gardenhire, Joe Nathan, Delmon Young.

$25-30 Tables:
Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau.

Most of the former Twins end up in the $5-10 tables. Carew, Oliva, Hrbek, Molitor, and Blyleven are always $20-30. Morris is sometimes a $15. Jim Kaat will be interesting to see since I think this will be his first Twinsfest. I would guess him to be $15-20. Glad to see Mudcat is back--I missed him last year.

But some of the freebies are on the 40-man? And some have even played in the MLB. Hopefully it is close to how you put, because I have cards of those guys.

I will probably buy a mini-helmet and fill it up with signatures.

Re: "Official" Twinsfest info and news thread.

So I'm getting more and more excited for this to come up since last year was my first year and I only went 1 day, and I'm going all 3 this year. Question for people who have gone in years past: When do they usually release the schedule? I ask because I'm just trying to figure out what I need to grab of certain players. There are only some that I know I will buy, and I want to see who will be signing with them so I can have something for them as well. Thanks for any help! Looking forward to see what everybody picks up.

M and M are too effing big for their britches??
No GU items? WTF?
So I can go and piss away thousands of dollars for a jersey, but you wont auto it? OK ::facepalm::

Thankfully the only one I care about nabbing is Cuddy on a few items

Brother in White Bear is still trying to wrangle about 6 tickets up for the Saturday.

I was able to get the last one I needed about 5 mins ago... for $40. He had a BIN/OBO set at $50, and he wouldn't take 25-30 (I am new at offering), but he countered with $40. I was tired of wasting time bidding, and with finals week coming up, TF tickets would be on the back burner, so I just accepted the $40 counter.

Now to decide what to have everyone sign... I have enough Blyleven's, so I will focus on prospects, and Glen O' Perk for Saturday. I will for sure have Gibson sign a Chrome, as well as Wimmers, and Knudson will be a Gopher Pocket Schedule from last year, or the Gopher Poster Schedule, or the Ticket Stub from late March at Target Field (but I can't find it...).

Glen O' Perk will probably just be on an MLB baseball or a 05 Bowman Chrome card.

I am more worried about finding a Ben Revere card for the Caravan than anything else.

I feel bad for you Twins fans who have to pay for autos. The Padres Fanfest is amazing and includes Hall of Famers and pretty much the entire team and theyre all free with the 5.00 admission fee

BUT, I bet we get more charity money.

I just go to the freebie line because I have most of the other guys, or will get it eventually, and there are a ton of guys on the free line that I will never see again... so I usually buy an item and have them all sign it...

Pads make bank on charity money by selling game used items from previous years and a bunch of other cool cheap random goodies

There isn't a lot of that at TF... They make a TON on auto money... I went in like '03 and some lines would have 4-5 people... I would be in and out fast... They have a few GU things at the Pro Shop... but it is just a couple bats and bases... and then they have a ton of jerseys, but a lot are GI and not GU. I got fooled with that when I bought a Kevin Mulvey GI instead of GU. It is a cool piece because it has all of the patches on it, but it isn't GU. I am going to buy a Perk jersey.... they usually run for $250. I hope it is GU and not GI. I am going to go with a list of Home/Away totals for him and the kind of jersey he wore that day.

Good thing Cuddy isn't going that route. Bert and bats is kind of surprising.

The Padresfest sounds pretty cool. Does Winfield ever show up? When is this year's?

Re: "Official" Twinsfest info and news thread.

I thought they would have released it today for sure, the big question is the booth labels...that's gonna mess up the autograph guys that don't know the location of each booth like they do for the Metrodome. The two times I was a dealer there I always love to watch the doors open and people go running.

Greg Cleveland said:
I suspect by Monday or Tuesday they will list some specific autograph station info. Will post it here as soon as I see it.
