How is topps killing the HOBBY of collecting baseball cards?

are you confusing the "hobby of collecting" with value?

the two should have been separated in reality many many many years ago

I love Don West but the difference is that he was all lies, all lies (guess I forgot about that $100K Stras huh :lol: thats how long its been since I did it ) Sorry if you guys cant see the difference between lies and promotion. I guess you dont know that you get hit with promotions every second of the day you watch TV or pass an ad. I honestly cant believe the lack of common sense on this board. It is scary.

I would LOVE...LOVE....to sell as much Hockey as Baseball but it just hasnt happened, its my thrid best sport.

Its not about "Oh I lost money on Bowman Chrome", its about the fracking Hobby people. Its about how topps is killing it over and over and over again and if you dont see how, Im sorry for you. Its about what we all love and how Topps is just giving us the F job. Its our hobby and its the worst its EVER been and nothing is being done.

My lack of knowlege about Hockey means nothing. Nada. No one is coming in quizing me before they buy Certified. No one comes in my shop and buys Hockey NOT knowing anything about the sport. Hasnt happened. That sport has its "own set of rules" in this hobby.

Look, as of right now, I honestly could give a rats ass what you guys think cause you are all obviosuly walking encylopedias but in reality, you all just dont get it. For those who dont like the truth, for those who hide their head in the sand, I urge you all to foe me, Lock this down boys.

Seriously, you can't expect to make threads like this every other day and not catch flack for it.

if your customer base is into wax gambling to make money, then they are getting what they deserve.

Topps has been making cards for a long long time, and will continue to do so. they dont care about long term value, and thats fine by me

Maybe you, as a "store owner" should get your head out of your ass and not only learn about the other sports, but talk them up and create interest with your customers

This is a thread made by a brain burnt out on drugs. Every product sucks to one person And not the next one. It's all a matter of taste and so on. You're to worried about getting your money back and that's not gonna happen at all. Wanna buy something and make easy fast money? Score some pure dope and cut it with baby laxative or something else and re sell it. Wax isn't gonna let you do that, it's gambling and nothing else. Instead of bitching to us, you live in ny so go make a trip to topps. Tell thrm to their face and let us know what happens.

1. You said Stadium Club baseball was a hobby 'bomb' after 1991. One of the dumbest statements I've ever read on here

2. You admitted you know nothing about hockey cards and have no idea about anything regarding Panini Certified. This would be the retard equivalent of a Cadillac salesman knowing nothing about the specs of a CTS-V

3. You can't tell the difference between 2010 Topps Chrome football reprints and originals, even though 1. The reprints say "Topps Chrome," and the originals say "Topps;" 2. They look NOTHING ALIKE; and 3. You said this is the first time Topps has done this, when they did the same thing...IN 2001 TOPPS TRADED BASEBALL

And this is just things I've seen you bitch about in the past two weeks.

It's you who doesn't know a damn thing

But guys, Topps has screwed a lot of things up in 2010, I have to agree with most of the stuff the OP brought up. Many of these things are issues that never existed before their exclusivity.

I agree, but his sales tactics are not that though. He is pushing Topps product as the best ever. Why sit here and whine about it being crap, but to his customers is the best ever.

It's obviously the only baseball he can sell this year. As long as he isn't a jerk to his customers, they will still come back.

He uses these boards like his support group, it's cool, maybe he needs to get some crap off his chest.
