Couple of new ones for me...
1997 Fleer Goudey Greats FOIL...I amnot sure why this one was so hard to track down.

Well that explains why I don't see many on the market. I wonder how many are still in packs like yours? Probably not many. As usual, your collection amazes me.

The sets in question are the Fleer EX E-xceptional Inserts. It's my understanding that the serial numbered cards are as follows:

Basketball Red/Green/Blue
Football Blue
Baseball Red/Green/Blue

So if I have one that's supposed to be numbered but isn't I am assuming that is part of the fleer backdoor cards correct?

Well I found the group and when I picked it up the wrapped fell apart :lol:

I have 10 cards and will scan them tomorrow when I get into the lab.

BTW, A Jones auto is in the pack inserted "non-gold foil set and the gold foil is in the upgrade with no auto (but I bet you were all over that).

Sure do. Unfortunately they're from different sports but it gives you an idea. Beckett online says the shaq's supposed to be serial numbered to 1500. I haven't been able to find a basketball red yet that was serial numbered though (only been looking a little while).

Had a pretty sweet mail day yesterday. I'll start with a little history: When I got back into cards in the mid 90's, my first pack breaks were of 1996 Leaf. Always loved the cards but was never lucky enough to pull anything good of Griffey. I saw a listing on ebay last week for the complete Griffey run from 1996 and 1997 Leaf and had to jump on it. I would've paid the $60 Buy-It-Now just for the 1996 stuff, lol.

Nice cards George, I actually found this on Beckett tonight. Not sure how I missed this previously:

3,000 lucky winners from the Pinnacle X-Press Swing for the Fences game received special 10-card packs of upgraded Swing For the Fences cards produced on thicker card stock and printed with a special foil prize-winner stamp. Strangely enough, the card backs - containing guidelines for how to mail in winning cards - are identical to the original Swing for the Fences game cards issued in packs. The cards are unnumbered and typically sorted in alphabetical order by player's last name.

So with 60 cards in the set and 3000 10 card packs being issued, that comes out to 50 cards of each player. Very limited for a 1997 set, no wonder I have never seen an Andruw other than the one Fandruw25 has. Thanks for for sharing the scans George!!
