can someone sort by year each chase card (and from what product)

that would be very cool

That would be a huge waste of time when those resources are readily available

Follow up an earlier post I made. I just received the card with the price tag on it. The other card was the card I posted earlier.

 Thinking I was wrong before. Scans are not the way to go on identifying these. Good thing is it looks like you have one of each, blue and silver. The price tag one should be the silver and the lighter one the blue. Does the lighter one have just a hint of baby blue color to it?

I wasnt really thinking about it from a player collector standpoint.. I guess thats what most are in this thread though so that would probably be the best bet.

a card company would be pretty dense in the late 90s to avoid making a Griffey chase insert. that make magic man sad ;)

Yeah the lighter one has some blue. It's a lot easier when you have both cards to compare the two. Luckily I bought the first card marked as silver from spnascar so he's already offered me a refund if it turned out to be light blue.

Glad you got them both. You know the blue's were retail only parallels, right? The retail-only Pacific parallels are a LOT harder than many people realize. Like the reds that were only in 7-Eleven packs.

I think I read that the light blue were retail only. I knew the reds were retail. I'm just glad I was able to knock two more cards off my needs list.

Just got this hard to find issue in. It was part of a set issued in 1997 through the Heroes of the game magazine, much like the SI for kids cards. I'm not real sure about print runs but everything I've read seems to limit this to around 1200 copies. What makes this harder to come by is that andruw is on the same 6 card sheet as tiger woods.

Some Griffey 90's stuff I picked up recently.

Some great cards there. I see where that '98 Select ended up now. 8-)
Were you expecting that Team Pinnacle Gold to sell for that price?

Actually I've only heard of print runs being around 600 copies.

Were you going after the 98 select?
I sort of was expecting the TP Gold to end for that price; another Griffey collector wanted it too.

Did anyone here pull or go after these insert sets back in the 90's? 98 or 99 Fleer ultra Diamond Producers, 1997 metal Mother Lode, or the 91-95 or so Donruss elite sets? If so i'd love to hear some stories about it. Back in 97 i pulled one of those Mother Lode cards and was stoked they were a 1 in 288 pack insert, i probably sold or traded it for some more junk but it was quite a thrill. I was suprised to see how cheap they are now and will pick a few up as they seemed to be so tough to pull. Those old elites would have been awesome to pull, I never did but i had a friend who pulled the 92 henderson and I was super jealous, that was an awesome card, does anyone know how often those came, must have been one every couple of cases, could you really use a metal detector to find them? And all i remember about the diamond producers is that people wanted tons of money for them and they seemed to be really popular if i remember, so any refreshers on that set would be great. Thanks,

Mike

Sadly enough, I lost the back printing plate 3 days after I won this one :( (It's a scoreboard printing plate, by the way)

And, I know this isn't 90's, but I just wanted to share it anyways:

I stopped collecting in '96, so I wasn't around when the nice Diamond Producers came out. I never really tried for any of the Elites, other than the 92's. My Dad & I opened box after box. Only pulled 1 though (Puckett) which I still have. My big pull back in the day was a '96 Ultra Thunderclap Gold Medallion McGwire, a 1:720 pull. I seem to have misplaced it over the years though.

I remember seeing one of the mother lode cards back in 1998 when I was in high school and a few guys on the baseball team were trading a few cards before practice. I almost crapped my pants. It looked freaking awesome. As far as the Diamond producers...those can still be a little costly. But boy do they pop!
