I was cleaning up my photobucket to try and get rid of some of the cards I have more than 1 copy of scanned and I noticed a variation. It is in the 1996 Stadium Club Extreme Players cards. I found 2 versions of both the Bronze and silver Extreme Player cards. Not sure about the gold as I only have 1 copy, but it probably exists there too I would assume. Note the difference in the placement of the Extreme Player foil symbol on the card. I assume some of you already have noticed this, but I thought the other player collectors who didn't know might be interested:

Oh geez... Not another variation... Thanks for pointing it out!

No problem - I found it by accident and I figured you guys would find it interesting. Trying to track down some more copies of the gold to see if there are differences there too. Do any of you guys also collect the "sheet" variations on the late 80's/early 90's topps and Stadium Club cards? Those are kind of interesting too. Then there are also the Inc vs Inc. variations on the early 90's Donruss & Leaf Cards.

Different product by far; but I understand your thought process. Many of the Totally would be selling much higher but I stopped bidding on many of them after I finished the set. I once would bid $75 on all commons just to protect my investment.

1997 Finest Gold Die Cut Embossed refractors are 1 in 8.5 cases and an appox PR of 27-32. Commons from the set normally sell for $75-150.

The Un-Cuts were Topps Proofs, Exc samples etc (some type of in-house sample). I currently own 3 players and I dont think that I have ever seen more than 2 or 3 of any one player (If anyone has please let us know). I am not sure the last player to hit ebay.
George, have you ever come across or owned a Cruz non-embossed proof? I'm wondering if every gold card in the set has one and I need to add it to my Cruz checklist now.

The entire set was produced; I have never seen the Cruz Jr. Non-Embossed. I was happy to work a deal with a Cruz Jr collector for the Embossed version.

maybe a Hobby/Retail thing??
[h=3]Extreme Players[/h] This 180-card partial parallel set was part of a contest. 18 players (nine in each series) from 10 different positions (the eight fielding positions plus a starting pitcher and a closer) were selected and at the conclusion of the 1996 regular season, an "Extreme Player" from each position was identified as a winner based on a statistical formula. (The 10 winning players are noted with a "W" below.) Collectors could then take the Extreme Player card of a winning player and redeem it for a prize.
Collectors bearing an Bronze card of one of the winning players could redeem it for an Extreme Winners Bronze set of all 10 winning players. A winning Silver winning card would be entitled to an Extreme Winners set done on Finest-style chromium stock. While the 10 Gold winners could trade their card for a glass-coated, chromium-stock, Finest-style card of their player in return.

H R

Extreme Players Bronze 179 - 1:12 1:12
Extreme Players Silver 179 - 1:24 1:24
Extreme Players Gold 179 - 1:48 1:48

Thanks for the info. One more Cruz I need to track down. If you ever find one, please keep me in mind.
