Hype! Hype! Hype!

I am not one of the opinion that this thread is driving price increases in rare 90's inserts. Of course it can't hurt ;) But I think the prices and the interest in this thread are more of a reflection of the collectability and rarity of these cards coming together with the increased financial ability of people who collected them in the 90's to plunk down major coin.

It's not exactly like we've been hyping 1996 Select Mirror Golds, though...

Maybe I should since I still have a bunch of doubles.
feel free to send me one of those Griffeys George ;)

How do the Mirror Gold prices compare to those upon initial release? Were they fetching four figures back then as well?

Still pretty cheap right now.

I hope one day this will sell for that or more...

I just bought the hype in the Pacific Invincible Red thread and bought about $20 worth of Pacific today  I am such a lemming.

I come into this thread and check the hype for two reasons:

1. You guys talk of cards I never knew existed. (like the pacific reds, world series parralels, etc)

2. I then have something to look for after you guys talk of these cards.

And I thank you :D

1996 Mirror Golds sell FAR lower than upon release. Peak prices hit in 1998/9

1993 Finest Refractors PSA10s; The registry has done this to prices. Raw prices have crashed but 9s and 10s sell strong. Lower the Pop the higher the price among the big boys. Owning 10 + sets has allowed me to sell PSA10 and deal with a great group of 1993 collectors.

I sold the first 1993 Jay Bell PSA10 for $4500 and a Nolan Ryan PSA8.

Found a mid 90's item I'd never seen before today. This is a SPORTS HEROES, FEATS & FACTS subscription sheet set from IMP Publishing, released in monthly packets from about 1995 to 1997 according to the seller (kinda like the Sportscaster issues of the 1970's). They were three-holed punched for storing in a binder. Haven't seen these checklisted. Wondering if any of you guys have one for your player collection?

I have a couple of different versions of Thomas that I received in the mail for free as a kid. The company would send out a few promotionally, in hopes that they could gain subscribers. Little did they know, they gave me the copies I was interested in.

I'm a little short in the PayPal department, but I put em in my watch list and will hit them up in a week or so.

That is strange but there is a ton of Puckett collectors and maybe a
few set collectors in the mix? Still wish I could step in it like that
