This card is worth $8000.

I laughed out loud at this!

Unnumbered Cal Ripken Jr. 1998 Pinnacle Performers Big Bang Seasonal Outburst:

Price seems a bit high for the non-serial #'d version...

With only 17 serial numbered copies made, I assume the unnumbered copies are less than that. From what I recall, the unnumbered copies were held as replacements for damaged cards. So I doubt they made another 17 assuming all of them would need replacing.

With that said, I have yet to see an Andruw Jones numbered or unnumbered and his is serial numbered to 18. So I think $350 is fair if not a good price for a Cal Ripken collector.

Does anyone have a serial numbered copy of their player? These cards do not pop up often, that is for sure.

ive owned and sold the only 2 bagwells ive seen. his were /43
98pinperf.jpg

i also sold this arod /23 for 88.60

about the unnumbered. ive never seen an unnumbered bagwell. nor have i seen surplus of unnumbered seasonal outburst cards. I believe these were priced with a multiplier like .2x.5 or something like that pretty soon after release in the beckett and i thought i recalled them being listed as pack-pulled errors. i know 99% of un-serial numbered cards are released aftermarket, however i think this is the rare case where its not.

Thanks for the information! This card is #1 on my want list, so I guess that is why I am slightly shocked at the Ripken and AROD sale prices. I guess I just thought they would go for more based on other cards that seem less rare. The card is not bad looking either in my opinion, not as sharp as a Red Crusade, but definately not an eye sore. I guess the unnumbered cards floating around may have taken away from the hype/interest. Can't wait to find an Andruw, hopefully I will get it at a great price! :)

Looks like it sold for $175. Seems like a really good deal to me for a card that rare of Ripken. Either way, looks like I overestimated the Ripken market.

We're a picky bunch  I think part of it too is there's just so much Ripken stuff out there to collect, that you have to choose your battles

Anyone have any 1999 UD Choice Reserve prime choice? These are nice cards and based on how much collectors choice was produced, these have to nearly impossible to pull, #'d 100.

I have the 1999 UD Cover Glory of Derek Jeter #'d 100, nice looking card

I'm 25 short of the set. I've got a couple dozen dupes to trade as well.

Well if you ever decide to sell one at a sane amount, let me know. This is nowhere even close to a $1000 card. Personally, I'm looking for an ungraded copy. But I'd never pay this price, and the only ungraded copy I saw on ebay, the guy auto declined my offer. This is a rare card from a sought after set but I'm not buying into the insanity.

That's a little closer to what I'd pay although it's still a bit high.

Agreed! my snipe was way off. i could see 250-300 for a raw copy, not 450+. i paid 255 for my 1997 crash the game instant win. Why? A ton for that product was opened and all the instant wins found were set in for the set. This is the only one i or anybody has seen of Juan and that is 14 years of searching. I have seen 10 Juan Crusade Reds in the last 13 years. i would say there are way less instant wins then Crusade Red's

I put those numbers at about 100 each? 30 card set and 1 per case? I would say 3000 cases
is not a stretch for 98 Upper Deck Collectors Choice series 2.. Could be more like 200 each so I
agree they are tough as nails but not sure if a lot of that product was opened? Of course I
would give my left arm for the 97 and 98 Griffey's.........

You can get a case of 1997 S2 from bbcexchange for $150. S2 boxes from 1998 are $14 each. Still plenty of unopened product available, and if there's 1 per case, you can make a nice profit from a 1997 S2 case (depending who you pull).

So what does a 1998 Instant Win look like again? The ones on COMC are called Instant Win, but they appear to merely be the redemptions.

In may of last year i opened 2 cases of 1998 series 2 and got ONE! I got ZERO starquest home run cards. it took a month to open them all only a few boxes a day ( worked alot of hours ). they are a tuff pull. I would say it is much cheaper to pay out the ass to get the card you want. That is why i paid big time to get my 97.I saved money. Here is the 98 i pulled. I would trade this + $50 for a Juan.

The 99 and 2000 Topps MVP promotions are 100 per and they never show up.
I stand by my 100 of each prediction. I agree with you and I offered 200 for the
98 Instant Win Griffey floating around here last year but they kept it.
Those cases at BBCE are half cases so if that's what you opened then that would make
sense. The stated odds are 1:721 one every 24 box case? There are a ton of the 98
Win redeemed sets out there because supposedly UD gave all their left overs away in
2002ish at a show? You rarely see the 97 redeemed so to say people redeemed them
might be a stretch but its possible? I will say its stuff like this that keeps me collecting..
