I assume the buyer got a bulk discount on all of those and the seller just ended them at the bin price.

Those are the discount prices. The original BIN's were higher. Still an awesome paypay for the seller, but he had a MONSTER McGriff collection. Hope he doesn't regret selling them.

Most of his asking prices (on the biggies) was $900.......I gladly bought 1 card.

drumroll please......[/quote:3bltum44]

That was a nice collection of McGriff's. Wow....
The seller had his price in mind; I think he left cash on the table by accepting so quickly.

Agreed...would have been interested to see what the 98 chrome anniversary refactor would have brought in auction. The 1/1's at $550 seemed a bit high unless there are a lot of collectors going after master sets of these? or more McGriff collectors?

I meant last year lol. I forgot it was 2012 already.

Burbank hijacks a lot of cards. Stephen that works there seems like a nice guy in emails though lol

I've had to fork over the money for a lot of my Caminiti cards from Burbank.

One day I will scan in all my rare 90's inserts for this topic.
^^Can't wait to see your 90s inserts! One of the great things about being on FCB and this thread for me

On a side note, I don't want to hash out the Burbank topic because I feel like it comes up once a month but yes, Stephen does seem like a nice guy and is good at communication via email. In dealing with them, I've found some success just emailing and trying to work out a deal for a card or lot of cards if you have done multiple deals with them in the past. Usually there isnt' much room but I've been able to skim 5-10% off depending on how he feels I guess. I keep a close eye on their Belle stash and they easily have 40-50 cards I want/need.

As basketball collectors, we too would bitch about Burbank's pricing constantly as well. Then one day, their prices seemed tame by comparison and people were trying to clean them out for whatever remaining inventory they had left. I'm not saying that the same thing will occur on the baseball side, I understand it's a much different collector base, etc. - but it sucks to be completely priced out of a market in which you are actively involved. It happens a lot quicker than you think, at least on the basketball side it did. I own a total of ZERO 90's baseball stuff, so I have no dog in this fight. I'm just saying, if there's a card you think you might want and have been hesitant to pull the trigger on, you might want to think about doing so. I remember paying $350 for my Kobe Credentials /81 and thinking that was a ridiculous price to pay, only to see it sell for triple that two years later. God speed fellow collectors.

Not 90's and not really a card for that matter, but has anyone seen these before? They are approximately 8x10 in size with a thickness a little less than card stock. You don't see many 80's items that are serial #'d.

I picked up a Dante Bichette a long while back. These cards are freaking awesome.

Picked up the Stadium Club jumbo. Never seen one before. This one kinda looks like it got sunfaded or bad color imaging. Not sure. Does anyone else have these for their PC?

I've owned 3 Thomases...every copy looked sun bleached...so, I think it's standard. They're surprisingly tough to find when you want one right now, but they do pop up.

I've seen a handful of Bagwells. And yeah...they all had the sun bleached look.

For those that care/dont know......the "bleached" look is actually a problem in the printing process and not someone leaving these under a showcase light. Several 1993 Refractors have this problem and they all have low PSA 10 Pops.

It's also a pretty bad problem on 97 finest embossed cards.
