Nice mail day Brian! I love those kinds of mail days. It's like Christmas!
Sure does feel like christmas  It's getting hard to find Caminiti cards I don't have. I think I'm going to put together a website for my Caminiti collection once I can't find any new Caminiti cards. I have been collecting a lot of Gwynn lately to keep me occupied.

Yes, both luminaries cards came from burbank.

I was hoping you were smarter than that.
I know you still need a Red Crusade, and would be shocked if you dropped that kinda coin on this card rather than the Red Crusade.

I was one of the "Amazing" $200 offers.
Card really doesn't float my boat for that kinda coin.
Just my opinion.

What is amazing is that I got offers of $200 and less either on ebay or on the boards when I had my Ripken listed.

Wouldn't sell my Thomas for any reasonable price. $1,800 was an awesome price you got, but not too much for a collector that may not have another opportunity to buy one again. If I didn't have one I would have paid it......
Not amazing at all.
Every Player collector has their wants and needs according to their own priority.
We don't all hold every insert in worship as every other collector.

Were you not "trying" to sell or trade the Ripken for a Thomas?
When did you get/find your Thomas?

Was trying just for a trade, but got a bit impatient. Listed the Ripken card and found someone with the Thomas who contacted me through EBAY that only wanted to sell it, and had no interest in the Ripken.

I love the Stiffler pic from American Wedding you have as your main picture!
So you sold the Ripken for $1k?
Bought the Thomas?

Got a scan?[/quote:105fra90]

Posted the Thomas at page 222 on this thread.

I did have a set, but sold all to one party, with the exception of the Ripken and keeping the Thomas.

Me personally, I would take the Thomas Super DK over the red crusade every day of the week. I've seen several of the Thomas red crusade cards over the past 4 years on ebay, but never saw the Thomas Super DK until Clarkfan listed it recently. The only I had ever seen other than the one I own, is the one held by the ultimate Thomas collector (Lance).

To me it is all a matter of what I have a chance to buy related to cards in the 1990's and prior (not counting 1/1's). The Thomas 1990 NNOF is great and all, but if I decided to sell mine, I wouldn't be so worried as I could just buy one easily again as they come to auction fairly often. A card like the Super DK is special, as no matter how much I would be willing to spend on it...........if I can't find it, I can't buy it for any price. Same goes for some other cards I have that would be nearly impossible to replace...... like the 1993 Cooperstown Promo....

I agree Randy. Even though the Crusade Red was at the top of my want list for a long time, there was such a relief when it came to picking up my DK Super. I was literally shaking when I put in my bid on the one clark22fan sold a few years ago. I seriously never expected to see one again. At least with the Crusade Red, money can buy those. In the last 5 to 7 years of me searching, as much money in the world wasn't buying a DK Super, less the 2 or 3 that had sold in that time. I just think a lot of people still overlook them and don't really want them, where as the Crusade's get talked about so much more. I, for one, put my 1990 Score promo ahead of them both, but we are literally talking about some of the top cards in my entire collection and I'm very fortunate to own them.

i think the thing "hurting" (if you can call it that) the 92 DK Supers is that they are large sized. Not throwing the condition into the mix, the fact that they are larger is a turnoff to some, especially back then

1997 ULTRA TOP 30 GOLD - RARE UNCUT VERSION

Occasionally you'll uncut proof sheets pop up. Someone could have purchased them and cut the cards.

I got a nice response from the seller. Not a whole lot of new info than we already know (or thought), but I am glad to know that
A. Beckett has had a few (helping with recognition down the road, possibly, and
B. They are actual cards, and not paper prints...
C. there's at least an idea of how many are out there (15 each!)
Hi Matt,

I believe they just sat in a box for 15 years and were the original
test design for the set, later changed to die cut. A couple oddities
came out of the Fleer bankruptcy like this, it's more than likely
these were never destroyed once they changed the design. I talked to
Beckett about them and they had me send a couple in for grading, which
I've done. I'm quite certain there are only 15 of these to exist,
because that's all that was found. These are perfect for player
collectors. The price should be much higher based on what exists, but
because there is no price foundation they're pretty cheap. I'll mail
it out this morning.

Take care,
Jerry

^^^Dang, I let the Belle go for next to nothing. Mostly because I didn't see it on the checklist and I'm SICK of stock paper proofs, etc. :benson:

Did I miss why he feels that only 15 exist? I'm not doubting the number since I've only seen 2 Andruw's.

Can someone help me with 1999 Topps Action Flats? The Alex Rodriguez checklist has the following listed:

1) Topps Action Flats 10
2) Topps Action Flats Away Uniform 10
3) Topps Action Flats Classic Uniform 10

In all of my years searching I have only seen 2 versions of this item. I have 1 in a white jersey and 1 in a grey jersey. Does your player have 3 versions listed? If so, what the hell am I missing?

Thanks

I believe the third item is the card.

I thought that as well so I bought just the card and it is numbered S1.7

Of course, the checklist could be wrong. Any other input is appreciated. I need to stop looking for this thing if it doesn't exist.

It's hard to get a good picture of the shine on the cards.
