Re: OK, I'm a Little Pissed at PSA

Well it looks like I might submit it with the FCB group submission to BGS this month. If they draw the same conclusion I'll turn in my guns lol.

better slabbed by bvg then not at all.

One of my first vintage I bought (before knowing better) was a 55 bowman aaron that was graded CSA 8. I did get a great deal on it and it looked mint to me and was hoping for a PSA 8 or better which came back altered. They later told me it was colored. Even after reinspection with magnifying glass and a large scan i couldn't see it, but just accepted they were the experts....maybe its the blue was recolored in your matthew and it just is not visisble...whatever the case, looks like you had good luck with bvg...better bvg than no slab.

Or maybe it's a good thing.

Actually the folks over at Net54 (the top collectors in Pre-War cards), started to get on-board with BVG for a while, maybe 2 years or so ago. Beckett was advertising over there and gave a special grading deal to them and some free copies of Graded Card Investor.

BVG was ranked below SGC and above PSA by some. Then the Beckett T206 Wagner got auctioned by REA and I think that was the peak of BVG's popularity.
But I think they lost momentum. And while I hate sounding like a broken record, it has something to do with the lack of trust in BVG's ability to spot or recognize alterations (and ::cough:: trimming).

All that being said, you're way better off with it in a BVG 5 case than raw. Nice card!

Definitely nice to see. With the exception of the mark in the upper right, it looks like a nice card.

i didnt. i think i said try sgc but a bvg 5 should generate enough premium to get you back cost of grading plust a good 10-20 more. if only it were a psa 5.

fantastic looking card. not sure if youve said, but what did it run you raw?

Also, not that this should shock anyone really (knowing my oddness), but
i love BVG slabs.

i hear ya, but that could be said for PSA/BGS/SGC as well, nothing is 100% 100% of the time

Thanks guys I just wanted to at least have it slabbed "authentic", the 5 is a pleasant suprise. I'm ecstatic mostly for my consignor, she's been very patient through all of this.
