Well somebody's sore that their team couldn't cut it ;)

Well hey, when a series is rigged by the officials not much you can do, eh? I've never liked good ol Cindy so I'd be rooting against him anyways.

I agree. They made it blatantly obvious letting Ovechkin get away with cheap shots and penalties. I'm glad the Pens were able to overcome the lack of calls against the Caps.

PLEASE!!!! Wake up!!!! MAYBE if your boy Green didn't play like a turnstile every game and MAYBE if ***** would've actually got a shot on goal instead of hitting the glass with just about every shot, then MAYBE the Crapitals would've won!!!

So did the NHL pay Green to play like **** and pay ***** to make black scuff marks on the glass????

First off, who is "*****"? I don't think theres anyone on the Caps with that name last I checked.. And what does Mike Green's lack of play have to do with the officiating in the series?

I'd love to know how many games this season ended with a team not getting a single penalty. I don't think I watched a single Caps game this season that had a team with no penalty calls.... gotta how the first time that happens is in GAME 7 of a playoff series. Not to mention all the other crap calls, or non-calls.

I think you should excuse mstng99tim for mispelling "Semin". Sometimes it's hard to remember how to spell a scrub player's name.

I'm sorry, I didn't know I was spelling it wrong, I don't pay much attention to fringe players on other teams. I mean, he's not special, I don't see anything there, he skates well and misses the net a lot, but there's nothing else. BTW, I checked the Penguins roster and I didn't find any player named Cindy.

As for the refs, they've swallowed the whistle a lot so far in every series I've watched. The Crapitals just don't have enough discipline to avoid making stupid plays that resulted in penalties. I love when fans of a team that lose ALWAYS blame the refs!!! Just like when the Steelers won their past 2 Super Bowls, both games were called in the Steelers favor because of the refs.

Man, come to think of it, referees must be in LOVE with Pittsburgh teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pens have a significant edge in overall talent.
The Pens' top players are worlds better than the Wings' top players.
The Wings' best player (Datsyuk) is traditionally complete garbage in the playoffs, and that has been the case this year.
The Pens have an edge in blueline talent.
The Pens have a HUGE edge in goaltending.
The Wings have a goalie who has choked in pretty much every pressure situation he's ever been in.
The Wings' stifling team defense from last year has shown cracks this year.
The Wings are counting on pluggers like Cleary to keep their production up, or the team collapses. When you're counting on Dan Freaking Cleary, that's not good.
The Wings are also nursing a whole bunch of injuries.

On paper, the Pens should dominate. They are the much better team.
In practice, it should be a good series that could go either way.

I'm hoping the Pens win in triple-OT in Game 7 on a very soft goal by Gene Malkin. I'm hoping Crysby gets leveled by another Kronwall dirty hit that leaves Crysby unable to play due to a serious concussion (with lasting Lindros-like side effects), and Kronwall suspended for the rest of the series. I'm hoping Malkin carries the team on his back to the point where even the most zealous Canadiac finally admits that Malkin is better than Crysby. I'm hoping this all comes after the Wings get off to a 3-0 series lead, with Osgood having his typical late collapse in all four elimination games, leading people to realize that he's just a glorified backup and forever silencing the ridiculous speculation that he might be a Hall of Fame goalie one day.

I'll take Pens in 6 very tight, exciting games, with at least one of them going multi-OT.

My rationale is that Fluery is the better goalie this year, and I think Malkin will play much better than his disappearing act last year.

What's the point of your post? If I said something you don't agree with, feel free to attempt to refute my arguments.

Or don't.

Cleary is much more than a plug. He was first rounder for a reason and has blossomed in Detroit.
Guys like Abdelkader, Helm, and Leino would have already been playing anywhere else by now.
Datsyuk sure sucked it up in the past two playoffs with 18 total goals including 10 last year. He has not performed as well this year, but he is still a threat on the ice and can hopefully get healthy and step up.

Perhaps you should learn how to quote properly then.

As far as overall talent, the Wings have Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa, Lidstrom, Rafalski and Franzen. Pretty much everyone else is a plugger to one degree or another.

One guy doesn't make a defense.

Osgood has choked in pretty much every pressure situation he's ever been in. His two Cups don't refute that. He's benefited from playing for probably the best team in hockey over the past decade. He's a backup goalie who starts for some unknown reason. Still, it's irrefutable that he chokes in every pressure situation he's ever been in. Look at his numbers in Game 7's. I'll wait here.

The Wings don't have depth. If they did, they wouldn't be counting on pluggers like Cleary and Filppula.

He was a bust. Then he became a 3rd line talent in Detroit. He's a plugger.

Leino, yes. Helm is a borderline NHLer at best. Abdelkader has the potential to be a 3rd liner one day, but that's about it.

How convenient. Now go back further than the past two years.

The Wings give their pluggers a lot of ice time, and the bounces have been going their way. In playoff hockey, it's all about getting shots on net and they've been doing that. That said, if you can't tell the difference between skill and hard work, you shouldn't be commenting on it to someone who can.

Osgood has been bad this series. Pittsburgh has been hitting a lot of posts, whiffing on a lot of shots and missing a lot of empty nets. They've also been more focused on stopping Detroit than taking their offense to the Wings. Last night, you saw that change and that's why the Pens won. If they keep doing that, they're going to win the series.

You were my kind of guy until you said you hate hockey. That's just crazy talk.

Hate the Wings because their fans don't know the first thing about hockey, not because you don't like hockey.
