I DARE SOMEONE TO SAY HE'S NOT HOF NOW.

Honestly, I don't think Warner's a HOF guy. I put him in the same basket as Priest Holmes and other guys that put up dirty-sick numbers due to their system.

Warner's on the cusp though.

I mean, we're really only looking at 6 seasons of play, here. Three with the Rams, and 3 with the Cards and there's a bunch of junk thrown in between.

Guys get in with six great seasons, but if we're just looking at statistics....meeeeeeeeh.

10-3 in play offs. 2 of the losses were in the super bowl.
32344 yards with 4070 attempts and 2666 completions 208 touchdowns if thats not hof stats i dont really know what is then.

I don't know how to respond to this, because the numbers themselves really aren't that good -- He's definitely not top-20, can't miss in any category except passing % and in turn, I'd assume QB rating?

The only thing that gets Warner into the HOF is the Playoff record...

I think he eventually gets in, but as it stands there are quite a few more deserving players.

If he retires this year and then in 5 years please tell who is more deserving?

Hopefully the Cards win again next week so I can go to Arlington for the NFC Champ game in two weeks.

Wow, the cowboys are already in the NFC Championship game, guess I missed something. I thought they had to play Minnesota next week.

Hey it's great that they are on a roll and beat the bumbling eagles, but let's not get that How bout dem Cowboys strut going after they just won their first playoff game in more than a decade. Let's wait until after they win something more than a first round game.

he will be in as soon as he is eligible, if you dont think those numbers are good than you are CRAZY, especially considering he didnt come into the league untill he was 27 years old unlike alot of the players who come right from college and get 5 or more years to up there stats....

You clearly value Warner's importance on the Rams & Cards much more than I do. There's no arguing that the statistics alone are anything but marginal for HOF entry.

Personally, I have some serious issues judging quarterbacks based on their playoff success in the modern era. Especially when they've been surrounded with incredible talent.

That's cool, I figured that but I know how Cowboys fans love to brag. There was a time when they could brag and man it was annoying!!! But they deserved it, they were a great team in those eras. They still have something to prove with this squad, but I don't think any team should underestimate their ability. I'd love to see Romo make the critics eat it, but I can't root for them next week!

Unfortunately that's what there is to base quality on, stats, rankings against other HOFers, and playoff success, in that order. I don't think playoff success is the best gauge, but if there's a guy on the fence, it should be factored in and push him in.

When I look at Hall of Fame Players, it's about career accomplishments. Gale Sayers had to be quite possibly the most dominant RB of all time to get in having played only five years. I don't think Warner's on the same level as someone like Sayers.

With that said, when you look at Warner's career -- He stands out in the average categories, but the overall categories really bite him in the butt because he entered the game late, and put up some really awful or injury plagued years.

Question: Is Phil Simms a HOFer to you guys?

Touche. Parcells and his RB hoarding style worked out well with guys like Ottis, Rodney and then Joe Morris worked out well. For the most part it was their defensive guys that ranked top-five throughout Simms' career.

Simms never threw more than 22? TDs in a season and the offense was generally somewhere in the middle of the pack.

The Giants will always elude me when it comes to understanding why they were so good. I blame Dave Meggett.
