------OFFICIAL PAY-IT-FORWARD THREAD (Card Posted)-----------

I'm not pissing on that thread, I just think the comparison is laughable. If you and the majority of the members think they are comparable, then I guess that's why this thread is doomed for failure.

This thread was doomed for failure because of the card that started it. It's an amazing card, awesome gesture by you, and great work by 200lb but to think that people on here or any board would match that card value wise and even put up better stuff than that... Well I just don't see happening.

What's wrong with members giving away $100+ worth of low end cards as apposed to 1 high end card of similar value??? Maybe some of us don't have high end stuff to give away??? I think both are great threads and I believe they are comparable as they were both created with great intent & we can't control what goes on within the thread.

& nobody giving cards away over there asked for anything in return either

I don't go on other boards so pardon me. That's why I said "I" don't see it happening (not that it doesn't happen) I'm not trying to argue about anything and it seems like that's what you want right now so ill just let it be.

Again it was a great idea and a great gesture by you and 200lb and I'm sad that it didn't pan out

Nothing. That's why there is a thread for that.

Maybe some of us don't have high end stuff to give away???
Then use the free thread. No one is obligated to use this thread.

Not comparable. Giving away 3 packs of opened Bowman Platinum does not compare to the intent of this thread.

I disagree if someone donates $1 to a good cause and that's all they can afford its just as good as someone with more $ donating $100 to a good cause.

Good intent is still there on both

I won't use an analogy.

Person giving away their 3 opened packs of cards because they didn't get anything they wanted = someone digging something out of their PC (Hank Aaron PSA/DNA Auto) and sending it off to someone else?

Those are the same thing?

Look in the thread there's been some great cards given away. I got 2 HOF autos from 2 great members, tons of autos & game used cards. I've given away some of my own PC Cards from the binder I'm saving for my kids cause I knew they would get a good home.

Just don't see why you had to bring up the free to good home thread & make negative comments on it.

Not really applicable here.

To complete the thought, it would be like donating $1 and taking $6 back in change.

I'm talking about the intent of both threads, it's basically being said that the intent of this thread is greater than the other

FYI, I am working on a new system that might make the PIF thread work. If members agree to the system, I'll be happy to donate a very nice card to jump-start it. The key flaw in the thread is that the posted card goes to the first person to claim it, rather than the person who is most deserving. If we move to the latter system, this thread can work.

What card have you offered?

I guess I was right with "here we go"... I go to lunch, come back and there are like blasting posts back and forth as expected... so essenitally thread is killed until a mod comes in and cleans it up... or maybe you just want it to die?

Anyways, to answer your question of "What card have you offered?" - The answer is simple, NOTHING... why you ask? Well because I haven't claimed any of the stuff in this thread, so therefore haven't put anything up to offer! Any why you ask to that... well answer is simple... nothing has been posted that I would PC, so for the sake of the thread, haven't claimed anything... then in turn haven't "offered" any cards! Make sense??? Last time I checked that follows along with the thread and how it should be run, no?

Listen, clearly you have an axe to grind with the thread you started and how it's gone. I wasn't going to bark up your tree after your "1s and 2s" comment but god damn dude... you were the one who created the thread and said let's have it just be free flowing with ZERO rules and clearly that was a mistake... um literally the first claim and pay-if-forward was a clear sign with a $5 sticker auto went up in replace of your cut... not my problem but it started off terrible and then got worse before it got better with McDonals coupons lol.

Again, didn't want to jump all over you here but thanks for asking what I've offered up in the thread because it got me to reply.... also, just so you know, I've given away FOR FREE half a dozen cards in the free-to-go home thread and that is what it is... sounds like you think I'm a worthless member and add no value but I beg to differ

The thing with this thread is some people don't give a XXXX. All they want is to get some really nice cards for free. Look at the first person, he claimed a Hank Aaron cut auto and put up a Bobby Doerr sticker auto. He clearly could care less about anyone else, he just wanted a free Hank Aaron cut auto and that is what he got. Another example is the McDonald's coupons, if people really cared about this thread you wouldn't put up McDonald's coupons.

This thread could work if people start caring, I know a lot of people do but there's some who just want free stuff. Also I love the the idea James52411 has where we make sure people who deserve certain cards see them and it's not just first come first serve.

I didn't kill anything. Selfish people are killing the thread. I haven't taken a card from this thread.

Anyways, to answer your question of "What card have you offered?" - The answer is simple, NOTHING... why you ask? Make sense??? Last time I checked that follows along with the thread and how it should be run, no? I never got a card. Never asked for one. Paying It Forward isn't about me or you. It's about doing something for someone else. Just wondered what card you are offering up that will make this thread great? If an Albert Belle 1/1 was up on this thread, what would you replace it with? Rhetorical if you wish.

I have nothing to grind. Expectations were put in place. If people followed them, the thread would still be running smoothly. I'm not trying to pile on you, but you couldn't even follow the concrete rule of not posting in the card thread if you weren't taking/posting a card. Kind of why I created a discussion thread (which is now moot).

My responses in blue.

I don't know what more you want me to say... I think YOU did a great thing by starting the thread, etc. but again, it got off the blocks bad when a $5 stick auto replaced your cut haha... I mean let's be honest, you knew it was doomed from that point forward and you still wanted to just leave rules out of it and let the thread find its own way... well it didn't work which is sad for FCB.

Anyways, I hope it gets cleaned up by a mod considering all the back/forth it's now created and then gets jacked back up by a CHAMPION but if not, think it was fun to watch because I too never claimed a card and I've already explained why.

You've asked me a few times about "what would I offer up if a Belle 1/1 posted" or something similar - I'll give you a simple answer - who knows, that's scary to think about honestly... why you ask? I initially really wanted to participate but quickly started to see that it's probably better not to participate because god forbid you don't put up something of enough value... or no one wants to PC what you posted... or it's taking too much time for someone to claim... or whatever... If a REALLY awesome Belle card posted, I'd make it special but would pray I didn't get caught up in a pissing match about what I posted or it taking too long or inclues too many cards or whatever.

SO I took my talents to South Beach... no really, I went over the free-to-go-home thread and started having fun just giving cards away for nothing in return and it's been a real pleasant experience. I guess maybe that is more my speed... just give things away for free and nothing in return and just have fun.

Sorry but I think I am NOT alone when I say the thread quickly became a scary place to play... people were literally b!tching people out about what they posted up, etc. Not saying some people (like McDonals coupon guy) didn't deserve it but it started to feel like thinking about all the downside that could come from claiming and then offering up the next card.
