what an awesome game. I know Ovechkin will not be suspended but he better at least get a fine for his obvious knee on knee hit to Gonchar. one day his dirty play is going to catch up with him like it did Eric Lindros.

anyway the Pens have huge momentum on their side for tonight's game and they better use it in their favor and come home for Game 6 Monday up 3-2 for me to see them close it out at home.

Power Plays... 23-13... Way to keep it fair refs! The Pens whine so much for penalty's that the Caps 3rd goal was a result of Pens players on the ice crying for a penalty call.

Want to talk about cheap shots by players, where is the talk of Staal skating through the crease after the whistle and throwing a punch at Varlomov last night? Of course no penalty... Oh, not to mention this cheap shot from Game 2 that was not a penalty or suspension either.

No one can tell me (unless you are being a complete homer) that Ovechkin's hit last night was dirtier than that.

Pens fan have it made, guess the Caps won't get any calls until they are behind in the series, or tied, we will see tonight.

Kunitz was fined by the NHL for the cross check and I believe Ovie will be fined as well.

he will not be suspended because of who he is but as Matt Cooke said after the game if it was him there would've been a 5 minute major called and a suspension. I realize the NHL won't suspend Ovie for the hit but he will receive a fine and I think he would agree it is deserved.

I hate Ovechkin more and more as I watch him play. He's an ass.

Yeah, he was fined... Where was the penalty call? Exactly the point. And there is no way you can tell me that the knee to knee was worse than a 100% intentional cross check to the goalie's neck/head. I think we all know what would happen if a Cap took a stick or punch at Fleury?

It's not like Ovechkin stuck his leg out to "trip" (the penalty call) Gonchar, he was trying to throw his entire body at him and the legs hit, which is why his entire body, leg, arm, shoulder went flying at Gonchar.

Unfortunate play and Gonchar is a good guy and hopefully he won't be out long...

I agree he wasn't trying to hit him knee on knee and he said he was going for a shoulder check but the same thing happened earlier in the season and Evgeni Artyukhin was suspended for 1 game.

Alex Goligoski was just recalled by the Pens for tonight's game so obviously Gonch will not play tonight. I would think Phillippe Boucher will take Gonch's spot in the lineup and Goligoski will be ready for Game 6 if needed.

the Pens just announced Gonchar will be a game time decision and if he does play they will dress 7 d-men for insurance.

the NHL has decided there is no need for any discipline against Ovechkin.

I have said how I feel about the hit and will move on.

I'm still sore at Lindros. I idolized him in ~1996 when he played for the Flyers, but he never seemed to stay healthy or realize his full potential there.
