Everyone seems to think that being a Yankee fan is so easy, but it’s not true at all. Our team has won 26 rings, 39 AL pennants, and is considered the best franchise in all of sports. What does that mean now? We can all look back at those championships and say how great those teams were, but nowadays it’s all about what have you done for me lately. The Yankees haven’t won the World Series since 2000 against the Mets’. Anything short of a World Series title is no good in a lot of fans minds. Yankee fans are spoiled..there is no arguing that, but that doesn’t make us worse then anyone else. The fans don’t control the team, so don’t blame us for the decisions the organization makes. I have been a Yankee fan my entire life. The first memorable moment I saw was Charlie Hayes catching the last out of the 1996 World Series when I was 5 years old. They went on to win in ‘98,’99, and ‘00. Some fans don’t get to see one win in their lifetime..so you shouldn’t take it for granted. People say being a Yankees fan doesn’t take any work. How can you say that? Yankee fans get bashed for everything. We get made fun of because of Hank Steinbrenner’s big mouth, the Yankees choking against the Red Sox, and not winning a championship in the last 8 years with a payroll exceeding $200,000,000. Yankee fans have to constantly stand up and defend the team. We are even hated in our own town by Mets’ fans.

Agony- 2004 ALCS choke against the Red Sox

Frustration- Yankees missing the playoffs in 2008

Heartbreak- Bloop Single by Luis Gonzalez to win the ‘01 WS

These are some typical things you would hear people say about the Yankees…

Yankees Suck!, I see the Yankees are back to their free-spending ways, You’re a spoiled Yankee fan…

I don’t know about you guys, but it seems like fans are bashing the Yankees more and more about spending when they have been doing this for so long. This started happening when Steinbrenner took over the team in 1973, which was 35 years ago! People are both jealous of the Yankees and they despise them. They win and lose on the biggest stage in the world. I guess that comes with being a fan of the Evil Empire.

I will always be a Yankee fan no matter what. I’m not the type of person who would turn to another team because I’m disgusted with a few moves the team made. I’m proud to be a Yankees fan. The Yankees have some of the most passionate fans in the world. Go Yankees!

I'm a die hard Yankee fan. Have been since 1980. But this is the only response this thread deserves...

Twins Born On Different Days, Years

1 Twin Born On News Years Eve, Other On New Years Day

POSTED: Friday, January 2, 2009
UPDATED: 2:16 pm EST January 2, 2009
ROCHESTER, Mich. -- A metro Detroit mother gave birth to twin boys on different days and in different months of different years.

Tangernika Woods and her husband welcomed their first twin, Tarrance, at 11:51 p.m., Wednesday, New Years Eve 2008. Their second twin, Tariq, made his entrance 26 minutes later at 12:17 a.m. Thursday, the first day of January 2009.

The babies were born at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester.

"It was a shock!" Woods said.

Woods said she wanted to give birth to both boys on New Year's Day, but the fraternal twins decided to come out proving that they're different.

"They bring in their own years the best way they can," Woods said.

Woods' husband, Tarrance Sr., is a twin himself and said he understands the importance of having your own identity. He said he's happy to have his twin sons born on different days in different years.

"All I can say is they have their separate birthdays now, you know?" he said.

Woods said she'll now have to say the date and time of birth to help explain how her twins were born in 2008 and 2009, but that's a small clarification she's happy to live with.

"I was just happy that they were here and were healthy," she said.

Family and health staff said both boys are healthy, weighing in at 5 pounds 7 ounces and 5 pounds 15 ounces.

The family is expected to go to home Saturday.

The couple also has a 7-year-old daughter and an 11-month-old son.

Go Giants!....Don't complain about taking heat for your team unless it's been over 50 years since they've won a World Series.

I'm not on hear to make friends with Red Sox fans. haha. I'm here to talk baseball. I'm not looking for sympathy...I'm just stating my opinion. I know people will bash me for the thread, but that's what this is all about. If people didn't care there wouldn't be 73 views on this thread already.

People aren't viewing out of interest. They are viewing to see what new, annoying Yankee talk you could have possibly come up with this time.

Doesn't it tell you something about yourself when a die hard Yankee fan (me) is telling you that your constant threads are past the point of annoying?

It's really easy NOT being a Yankees fan, you should try it out! You know, I switched from cheering for the Indians for 20 years to being a Brewers fan halfway through last season. If you're following my story, you'll know that I was forced to contemplate being a Yankees fan just a few weeks ago. It was a very easy decision! I don't want to look like all those kids who wish they were gangsters so they go buy a Yankees hat. Good thing I kept all those Indians caps around. ;)
