Lee is unbeatable in the post season....Oh wait the Giants beat him twice in the World Series.

the D Backs in the playoffs.

still be in it if they played in the NL West.

The Phillies have an advantage with the starting pitching as well. Halladay/Lincecum is a toss up, but with the other four matchups I'll take the Phillies starter. Bullpen is a pretty big advantage for the Giants as they have established roles with relievers that have been successful. The Phillies pen has been pretty solid this year, but they are all in new roles so I'd much prefer the Giants bullpen at this point.
Ryan Howard -vs- Aubrey Huff
Utley -vs- Keppinger
Rollins -vs- Orlando Cabrera
Polanco -vs- Sandoval
Chooch -vs- Eli Whiteside
Ibanez -vs- Beltran
Victorino -vs- Andres Torres
Pence -vs- Cody Ross
Halladay -vs- Lincecum
Cliff Lee -vs- Matt Cain
Hamels -vs- Bumgarner
Oswalt -vs- Vogelsong
Worley -vs- Sanchez
Bastardo/Stutes/Lidge -vs- Lopez/Affeldt/Ramirez
Madsen -vs- Brian Wilson
This is true but we could have made the same comparison last season and we know how that turned out. Stats looks great on paper, but sometimes it doesn't translate to the field. Personally I'd take the healthy Giants line-up over the Phillies but that's because I think they play with more heart.....but I'm biased.
CF-Torres
2B-F. Sanchez
C-Posey
RF-Beltran
3B-Sandoval
1B-Huff
LF-Ross
SS-(Whichever statue they decide to use)

Phillies = 8.5 Game lead in the East
Giants = 11 games over .500
Phillies = 34 games over .500
Giants = 3-7 in their last 10 games
Phillies = 8 Wins in a row
Giants = .500 on the road
Phillies = 11 Games over .500 on the road
West Record = 275-287
East Record = 302-258
I am not going to go into team ERA, team batting average, team HRs ect.... do the numbers not speak for themselves. Phillies have 4 straight division titles... giants have 1?
Seriously.

All that matters is head to head and in the post season even that doesn't matter. Seriously it doesn't.

Where's Howard been in the series 1 for 8 with 5 strikeouts
He doesn't even need to pitch well, he can throw them in the heart of the plate and watch the Giants roll over the ball...Lincecum can't allow any runs if the Giants are going to win.tommyd2107 said:Should be a good game tomorrow with lincecum and oswalt going. Hopefully oswalt pitches well and the phillies get the sweep. Go phillies
