Since we are inthe middle of World Series season I thought I would post a few vintage photos from the fall classic. I wont get to "wordy" today and let the photos speak for themselves.

First up is one of many fall classic games at Yankee Stadium. I do not know the year for this one but I can pick out Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra and others in this shot so we do know it is pre-1961.

I would LOVE to know where this banner is at today and I would hope it is not in some landfill as we speak but I have zero hope of that.

Sportsman's Park, St. Louis from either the 1930 or '31 World Series. I love how the fans are dressed up for a game.

It made me laugh when I saw it lol, I could imagine the same look on the face of my mom or any of my ex-girlfriends if I told them to go stand beside the banner for a picture lol

...my first thoughts exactly!! Funny......

Love the vintage pictures! Think of the iconic WS images from the past- Larsen's perfect game (jumping into Berra's arms), Mazeroski rounding 3rd base, Fisk waving ball fair, Buckner, Joe Carter jumping in the air, Reggie's ball flying into CF bleachers (in 3 HR game), Brooks Robinson diving down the 3rd base line, and so on and so on.......

You've got to remember that in the 30's people got dressed up to go out in public. Casual wasn't an option then.
The woman in the other photo was just given her anniversary present, maybe
