After a month and a half down time life is finally getting back to normal and I thik I will be able to post these on a daily basis without too much interruption.

Today's photo of the day is a early to mid '60's photo that features Mickey Mantle in old Yankee Stadium about to unleash his fury on another unassuming baseball. The photo wasnt marked with the credit information but it appears the visiting team is the Orioles (hopefully someone will correct me if wrong) and those others in the photo are unnamed.

I hope you enjoy today's photo of the day

Great picture, way cool how he holds the bat, left hand below the knob.

Welcome back! Instead of an unassuming ball, I prefer to think of the fan in the left field stands who went home with a ball and a great story.

Welcome back. These were missed, hope all is well.
Great picture. Look at all the white shirts and ties behind him. Love the bat grip as well, cause that's how I held the bat for years

Maine of course......
Bam!! Welcome back and great pic!! Look at how "thick" the Mick looks through his core. No wonder he could hit the he** out of the ball. A few other things I notice- no batting helmet or catchers helmet and very old school catchers mask. Also, knowing Mantle was a switch hitter- without looking at his stats, I am guessing he hit better from the left side, especially at the Stadium.

No pine tar, shin guard, wrist band, thin armor on the catcher, ads on the walls and omg, those forearms look like Popeye, and all without drugs, just Bourbon.
He looks to be about 25-28 so that makes it about 1957 or so.
It would be cool if occasionally you put up a pic with no info to see what we can come up with about the pic on our own.
