I thought....oh, forget it

Hmmm, interesting

And I swear, if you guys troll this company like you did the last one.

Well, I will probably just sit back and pull my hair out. So frustrating.

[quote="Jeff N.":fatk09xs]I just spent 10 minutes going through ITG's hockey stuff on eBay. I would assume they have some sort of minor league hockey license. However, I didn't see any NHL player with a NHL full jersey or logo on the card.

Yes, ITG is fully licensed by the CHL (Canadian Hockey league) and can use team nicknames and logos from the WHL, OHL and QMJHL. The CHL is the junior league that the NHL drafts most of their players from.

What the frick are you talking about? I said they seemed to have a minor league hockey license. G Money agreed. I know nothing about hockey.

I don't see how that's "owned".

No, I'm asking questions. There's a tremendous difference. I've found that this board doesn't like to question things; just accept and move on, and kiss the manufacturer's ass in the hope to get free stuff. This card company isn't going to answer the questions. That's fine. That's their right. I think it's a weak move to come here for the free advertising and not answer questions, but that's their right. And it's my right not to purchase their product.

It's all good.

I can't throw too many names out yet.

As far as licencing goes, this is something that we will only discuss in house. It's my opinion that a collectors message board should be about collectibles and not the legal matters of a company. Plus we have seen in past debates with other companies that the banter on here can get quite hectic. We would rather avoid that.

I do appreciate the passion that you guys show in debates, that is something this hobby needs much more of.

While that is a fine POV, you have to understand that a lot of people won't go into a new product or line unless they have a better idea of what their investment entails. You can talk all you want about how the hobby should be such and such, but it is an investment for a lot of people.

You can't expect people with big pockets to blindly throw $ into a product when we've seen in just the past few years the issues with licensing from one of the major companies as well
as a company who had success in other aspects of the hobby and attempted to get into baseball

I just do not know whats so hard to understand!

For clarification, you do not have an MLB, MiLB, or NCAA license, correct?

No, none of that

We will be giving it a go without one. We understand that simply isn't what some people want. However we can only go with what is possible, and will do the best job with what we do have.

There is going to be no licensing, period. What more does ITG need to say/discuss? How are we now going blindly in to this product? Because they wont come on here and argue it with everyone?

I feel warm and fuzzy that you spent 5 minutes looking and cutting and pasting.

Since they went forward with additional cards, and I've heard from a VERY credible groupof sources that they were going to include both major league team names on the back of the cards and Minor league logos on the front, I wanted to confirm that they were going without licensing. They are. I know what I needed to know. Moving on.

KD and I were right all along about Razor, though.

Nice to see some Archer autos; willing to say what sets he will be in? Thanks

IMO, this board questions everything (to the point of annoyance sometimes) and any a$$ kissing is certainly in the minority. But I completely agree with the premise that if a company wants to come on here and promote their product, they need to be prepared to deal with questions and criticisms. That whole Marie Antoinette thing and all.

"Warm and fuzzy"? Dose this kind of passive insult normally work for you?

Not today.

No one gives a shat if you buy their products. They aren't Razor, they have been making quality products for many many years now and you questioning every move they make isn't amusing and/or interesting.

Look great, but what will be done to deter patch fakers? Any chance of a patch scan database?

We are exploring options here.

This would be an awesome step!
Having all patches pictured on the website would be an A+ innovation!
BG

If you commit to doing this, I'll give you the infrastructure for free and you can get some retarded York Student to scan the cards. Seriously, I can't explain how annoying it is to worry about whether or not a patch is real.

The first patch set to do this is gonna be huge. Nice huge patches go for crazy money now. If everyone was 100% sure it was legit with a database backing them up it would be even nuttier. I know myself and others have been pitching this idea for years now. I remember bringing it up in 05 with all the faking with Prime Patches. It would be huge.

It would be a fantastic selling point for sure.

Jeff N. have you realized all you do here is argue? It is everyone against you most of the time, most people here do NOT value you whatsoever and would be glad you are gone!

From my POV its an honor to have these guys come by. Showing some mock-ups and sharing a few ideas is pretty appropriate, whether they ask for ideas or input depends on their strategy, assuming the members here are their target audience for whatever it is they're trying to do.

Taken to the extreme way beyond what you're probably thinking, I don't think of FCB as a "murder board" or place where manufacturers must go to get their product 'approved', that's pretty elitist.

Uh, I questioned whether they had licensing. I didn't ask any other questions.
