My email to the seller:

So I received a nice white envelope from you today, taped in half, with a nice slit in the bottom of it with the imprint of what appeared to have once been a toploader in the envelope.

No card was in the plain white envelope. This is not a big value transaction ($3.24 for the card and $3 postage for a plain white envelope and $.62 stamp) but I don't think it's quite fair to pay $6.24 and receive nothing when common courtesy would have included a bubble envelope.

Please advise as to how you wish to proceed.

Seller's name is gallipanig2006. Avoid like the plague.

Just a question, if a buyer of the redemption wanted the actual redemption for insurance taht he gets the card, is it alright to send a redemption in a PWE if you conceal the redemption card?

My biggest issue is the damage that can happen to a card with PWE. So perhaps the buyer wants the Redemption card in Mint condition.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Usually the issue with PWE is the damage it may cause to a card obviously and I don't much care what condition my redemption card is in.

That's what I thought, thanks.

It's still a lot easier for the card to rip out of a PWE than a bubble mailer.

I never use a white envelope for anything. Anything I send on eBay gets DC and a bubble mailer. Period. As evidenced here, a toploader can break right out of the envelope.

No, I haven't received a response, but I just posted it. I'm hoping he'll do the right thing and send a paypal refund; if this was a bubble envelope that was cut open, I may have some understanding, but he sent this asking for trouble.

It's $6 - It's not a big deal. But just a shout out to avoid this guy should it be a bigger transaction with one of you next time.

You also run the risk of the buyer "claiming" not to have received the card. You can't get DC on a PWE.

Assuming that the transaction was for a redemption number, and not the card, and a paypal chargeback was started after I sent the redemption # via email, I certainly would throw something, anything, a printed SCAN of the card into a bubble envelope and put DC on it.

positive. He may have sent poorly but he gave a refund.

Id be hard pressed to give a positive. He couldnt supply to you the item sold. You won an item, not a refund. He would probably get a neutral from me if I had to leave feedback and as a seller, I would expect the same.

In situations like this, a positive is the only thing that should be left. It would be cruel and unusual punishment not to; in the end all you're out is some wasted time. However! I'd hit him HARD on the DSRs.
