I'm not as much of a player collector as I used to be, but moments and milestones just doesn't so anything for me. Way too complicated, and I can't support the product because it completely destroys the concept of the 1/1.

I said I wouldn't pick up plates but I got one for a decent price and it was not just the plate it was inbeded in a card.

Non card items. I don't refuse to pick them up, but there are plenty of cards to chase down to keep me busy that going after memorabilia or full game used items would just be far too overwhelming.

I really do not like base, most printing plates, and most gu a whole lot. I will still pick them up from time to time, but I believe the focus of my Zambrano collection is my autos, patches, and memorabilia.

I collected anything and everything 'til it got a little crazy. Now I don't care for 95% of his stuff. Just don't enjoy collecting it anymore. Starting to focus on more particular items now.

Minor league issues, after market show stamped cards, the countless Diamond King parallels, most printing plates, etc.

Great sig...

As to the original poster, I'm pretty much limited to 90's inserts (Chipper only), autos and patches for the two players I collect. I'll pick up regular GU of Chipper on occasion, but not of Kelly. Don't do much base.

Just aftermarket generic stamped 1/1s from someones basement, fake "proof" cards (the ones that are just cut larger from an uncut sheet), and boiled Topps Finest/Chrome "blank back/front proofs." Also, anything cut from a poster, box, or book/magazine and labeled as a card or proof. I will collect those items in uncut form though. Anything else is pretty much fair game. Haven't really gone after GU cards yet, put plan to in the future.

Will not collect:
- most after-market cards
- most back-doored cards (non-pack issued printing plates, non-numbered Pacific/Fleer bankruptcy stuff, etc.)

Low priority (usually won't buy unless a flat out steal)
- printing plates
- multi-player cards (especially those with picturing non-Yankees, especially the Absolute Team Tandem cards)
- Danbury Mint, and Merrick Mint 24K Gold cards
- ugly looking cards
- non-card memorabilia (just don't have the space for it)

Right now, Im only picking up my guys rookie year cards. I really dont care or like the Rookie Logo cards of his the following year. Since none of those RC logo cards are auto or game used (so far), I dont plan on picking any up.

So basically, my player collection will consist of any and all true rookie cards and future auto or game used cards.

I always pass up plates even though they are extremely cheap.
