Gwynn545 I took the site down when I left the game. I plan on relaunching in a few weeks. I'm not sure if I will redesign it or launch it as it was. I still have a few issues I need to scan.

@Gwynn545 Yeah I have r.a checklist that I got from another Puckett collector. It does make it easier to help know what to look for.

for me the issue is really storage...i used to collect magazines / covers / newspapers but without a signature or anything I couldn't justify all the storage space, especially given how small the places I've lived in have been.

but, think they are pretty cool to augment the collection!

I have 40 some-odd Vince Young magazines. Pretty sure I have every Longhorns cover, unless Horns Illustrated put him on there recently

I try to pick up every magazine with Brooks on the cover and/or back cover. I would include the newspaper type magazines as well, like Sporting News, SCD, Newspaper supplements/inserts, etc. My favorites are the foreign magazines, which are very hard to come by. Seems like some people are willing to pay pretty good money for the odd=ball type magazines. Even though I collect Brooks, I usually come out on the losing end on the harder to find issues. For the past couple of years I also have been picking up magazines with articles related to Brooksie; I just like to read the old articles!

I'll usually pick any magazines or media guides or programs with Bagwell on the cover. I think I have a lot of the ones that currently exist. But I usually get very little competition for them anyways so I'm not really hunting them per se. Just kind of a nice little side project.

You need some competition? ;)

And these are just the covers. I also collect Pages, and inside covers, and Ads, and schedules... Lets face it. If Bags is on it, I want it. Click here for more

I finally had to save space, and kept just the covers to the magazines. I have em all in a binder now.

No, I've got most of those but there never seems to be too much competition. And half the time they are BIN's anyways. I just scoop them up whenever. Though I don't do pages or stuff like that. With all the other stuff I have, it would really get out of hand. I have probably 400 different magazines. A good chunk are auto'd.

I don't do magazines, which is odd considering I have a million comic books. But for sports collections, I limited myself to cards and related items like boxes and such. No bobbleheads, prints, banners, etc. Thomas was on lots of covers, Sizemore was on a few, including SI, but I just can't go there.

Oddly enough, I do have two magazines in my collection I can think of. One is the 2009 Bryce Harper cover. I was traveling, saw it in the airport, and figured why not. That and a 2010 BC is the extent of my Harper collection. And the other is either SI or a Beckett from 1996 or so that has Nomar, Jeter, and A-Rod on the cover, bro-hugging, with a blurb about the next generation of shortstops. Funny how they all took such divergent paths.

No, 400 magazines from all three sports I collect. Not 400 Bagwell magazines. All told I have about 40 or so Bagwell related. I collect certain sports illustrated mags, Horns, Dave Campbell's Texas football, some Slam, and a few other odds and ends. Also have a slew of Becketts. SI's can be addictive. I love reading them from cover to cover but they come out like every week. Very easy to notice one day you have way too many. Though I know a guy who has a copy of every one published. Pack Rat!

Some impressive stuff fellas. Fortunately my guys never made many covers. I have a couple of Game Day stadium programs because the price was right. I mostly ignore the 2 or 3 Athlon type covers since they usually feature a different team's player more prominently. I gotta say though if I collected a superstar I would think I'd have plenty of other things to chase and would probably limit myself to SI and Beckett covers.

I have a stack of McGwire magazines from when I was a kid that probably aren't worth the price of shipping anywhere but haven't brought myself to throw away either

Picked up a few more since last posting. I really love this sort of thing, and I can't get enough of seeing other people's collections of magazines! Some of the rare, local ones are so intriguing!

For my guy I go after any magazine where he's on the cover but I don't get anal about having everything with an autographed and non-autographed copy...either way is fine, I have plenty of autographs. I also don't go so far as to clip articles. Of course I don't collect somebody particularly popular so I only have about a dozen magazines.
