Postal Service details Saturday delivery cuts

I'd like to work an 8 hour shift. I'd like federal (well any) holidays off. I chose my occupation. I don't give a shat what anyone thinks about what I do or who I work for.

I work at the post office and do not get every federal holiday off.... I work on a automated letter sorting machine and we do work weekends and holidays......... it is a misconception of the public about every mail person being off...... funny how everyone also thinks we are paid like nurses and such... my wife is a nurse and makes a heck of a lot more money then I do and she should, just like she should be making more money than ATHELETES!!!!!

The carriers in my zip code make avg of 20. Less than I make an hour. It's not less than a lot of nurses base pay. The people that have been there for a while make more than me if I only work 3 12s a week.

I'm guessing you are off Christmas, New Year, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. That's just a guess. The athletes bring in a lot more money than we do and they get paid accordingly.

They should just increase postage to $2 for first class mail, and keep saturday delivery.

I mean, we totally take the mail system for granted.

How in the world are you going to send a letter from one end of the country to the other for two dollars?

This will cut down on all the mass junk mail, and the postal service will be in better financial health.

ummmmmm, NO that would just kill the hobby of ttm. id MUCH rather have no weekend mail
