Nope times two. Back in the day a Bob Gibson or Don Drysdale is going to drill you right between the numbers.Pine Tar said:Nope when was this? I 47 years young and I can't remember that timeLabratt21 said:Remember back in the day when people just got over stuff?![]()

I'll preface the following by saying its my OWN opinion ,,,
If a manager needs to instruct you to throw at someone as a pitcher you should be shown the exit door,,,,, drilling Fielder between the numbers, in his kidney, or his hands/wrist area should have been a foregone conclusion the minute the celebration concluded,,,,,, I certainly wouldn't want any teammate of mine unwilling to do so ,,,,, if Lincecum & Cain don't plunk him then that Giants team is as good as done before the season even starts,,,,,
The message should be sent until his brain and the Brewers team figured out never to do it again ,,,,,,, even if it meant multiple suspensions & money from every pitcher on their staff,,,, the rub in kind of celebration just does not cut it ,,, totally classless, unprofessional, and against every baseball principle I was ever taught,,,,,
It wouldn't take Bob Watson in the discipline office 5 minutes to decipher why the Giants were continuing to plunk Fielder and crew multiple times,,,,,,,
Once a professional comment emerged from Fielder Jr & crew towards the Giants team ,,,,,, I'd consider laying off,,,,
As a pitcher you better have a mean streak in you or your toast,,,,,, opposing batters will eat your lunch if they know your not going to retaliate,,,,, I broke more than one opposing batters hand/finger/wrist after seeing a celebratory move that either disrespected myself or my teammates,,,,,,
Simple apology and the matter is concluded,,,, " Hey it was great at the time,,,, now that I look back on it its something I wouldn't do again with my teammates ",,,,, that's what I'd want to hear if I were a Giants player,,, anything less is war until Fielder and crew figures out it was a bad move,,,,
My opinion of course,,,

The people that think this was "cool" are either Brewers fans or never played baseball at a high level. Baseball is a game of tradition and I appreciate that side of it, Prince Fielder and a lot of people that thought this was cool don't. Good luck vs. the Giants in 2010 Prince.

A perfect example of why this is wrong is that you've never seen it before. Walk-off home runs have been hit for over 100 years and this is the first time this ever happened. You know why? Because everyone else that ever hit a walkoff knew it was disrespectful to not only the opponent but the history of this great game.
