This has become the saddest day of my baseball fandom. BY FAR. I can't even begin to say how disapointed I am in the Brewers organization for letting it get to this. Yes, I knew it was a likely possibility. The Twins kept Mauer and Morneau, the money was there. Attanasio blew it. Melvin, Aramis Ramirez isn't Prince Fielder. All of the good feelings of last years Brewers season are gone.

As a Milwaukee fan, this is 100 times worse than when the Bucks traded away my "other" favorite player in Ray Allen.
I don't think I would've been able to handle it if Prince stayed in the NL.

And for all of you who make jokes about his weight, he has "missed" 13 games the last 6 years.

I'm guessing his cards will see an increase now?

Wish I had some. :(

2 BIN hit so far today. He is BLOWING UP in Detroit.!

My friend Mike (card-treasury) used to own the 2006 BC Fielder Super Auto.

I bet he's kicking himself for selling it now.

From one of the BlueJay MB. "pretty clearly a desparate, reactionary move directly related to our Vizquel signing. They knew they needed to make a splash to keep fans from crossing the border"

That's a lot of dough. Oh yeah, big contract too.

~If it wasn't for the damn economic down-turn and Detriot fans weren't poor, there'd be money to be made! Thanks Obama!~

Someone just sold it for $2500 I believe.

Sold out of the Tampa area apparently...

Great for the Tigers in the short-run. Awful for the Tigers in the long run. There is virtually no chance Fielder lives up to the $214M contract.

Dave Cameron of Fangraphs said:
The question isn’t if Fielder will become a hinderance to the Tigers ability to compete, but simply a matter of when.

He's only missed 13 games because as incentive they give fielder 35 hotdogs before the game if he shows up.

The Prince Fielder Super was sold by a shop in Tampa I was just at a few days ago. They asked me a while ago what I thought it was worth and we agreed on around $3500. So looks like they sold a little low!

BTW I just sold a gold ref auto /50 for $345. Solid or should I have waited for a better offer? Bought it earlier this offseason for $265

Is there really THAT much of a premium with him going to Detroit? There will be a little bump from Tigers fans wanting rookie cards, but I don't think the Superfractor should sell for too much more now than it would have a few days ago.

Is it that hard to figure out. They either play 1B as a platoon and DH as a platoon. Remember VMART is out.

Not this year with V-Mart out, but what about the next 2 years that he is under contract?

Let's see how long he stays healthy. No way someone his size can stay injury free for 9 years.

On the possibility of playing third:

Miguel Cabrera: "yo sabia eso hace 5 días, tuve una conversación con el manager para la posibilidad de pasar a 3B y tener un mejor equipo"
