I do NOT want to grade my cards...

*!BUT!* I was toying around the idea of slabbing them and putting some sort of personalization on the tag.

~ Is this even possible to have done? (Not wanting to have the word "Authentic" on the tag in order to accomplish this)

~ Who has the better cases? PSA or BGS. Do they both have case appearance consistency across all the thicknesses?

~ Thanks for any help and/or suggestions. -AJ

Regarding the cases and thickness of cards, PSA cannot accomidate thick cards in the standard slab. For thick cards they use an oversized monster of a slab that I think looks horrible. I think BGS can accomidate pretty much any thickness.

Both companies offer customization of the label like the example you showed.

This is a pretty cool idea... I too would LOVE to have a bunch of my Belle PC cards slabbed but don't really want them graded but would love to just have slabbed with a custom tag... I wonder what the limits are for what you can get on the tag or how it'll look.

I would contact one of the bullXXXX grading companies. They will probably do it on the cheap for you.

Where do the fly by night grading companies get their materials/slabs? I assume with the number of knock offs out there they aren't molding them in their basement. Might be something you could do yourself and if you get good at it charge others for the same and make some cash.

The start up costs for equipment isn't cheap. You may be able to find some used though.

Sounds good - I will make some calls and inquires soon and report my feedback here in case anyone else is interested -

I'm not terribly thrilled with sending my cards out to ANYONE - so not so sure I would send to a fly by night company.
