It's going to be painful to see these lists. Good luck guys

I'm still not convinced that he just got up and stole everything. I'm hoping that something just went wrong with him or whatever because if he just set it up and stole everything it would be a real slap in the face to everyone involved and everyone on the board including the mods considering he got permission to run this submission

No doubt! If I lived anywhere close to Brunswick, Maryland I would be taking a little road trip to check up on things.

Think it's because he hasn't visited since the site went down and was rebooted and transfered servers

If someone has not been online for weeks/months it ends up blank.

Having just looked at a few of the posts, I am not sure what everyone is waiting for. Communication is the main thing here that is lacking. Having not replied to emails/pms/whatever in weeks would put up a big red flag.

For all that are involved I hope things turn out for the best. I would not wait any longer, Do what you got to do. If that involves calling his local PD, do it.

I don't even know what I'd go about telling them, though. I know there are probably 2-3000 dollars of value in this sub (cards + grading fees). Maybe even more, I don't really know.

How would it be handled and reported when there are so many people involved, and all had different levels of involvement ($200 vs $500, for example)?

Is there anyone on this board with any legal knowledge on something like this?

Here's what I submitted: The dollar figures are what I came up with looking at ebay completed listings (averages) and includes graded and non-graded cards.

1969 Topps #100 - Hank Aaron - $32
1959 Topps #591 - Hank Aaron All-Star - $31
1967 Topps #242 - N. League RBI Leaders (Aaron, Clemente, Allen) - $22
1968 Topps #370 - Hank Aaron All-Star - $22
1960 Topps #566 - Hank Aaron All-Star - $30
1959 Topps #212 - Fence Busters (Aaron / Mathews) - $34
1964 Topps #136 - Koufax Strikes Out 15 - $17
1958 Topps #321 - Sluggers Supreme (Kluszewski / Williams) - $19
1957 Topps #210 - Roy Campanella (pencil writing on back) - $48
1961 Topps #80 - Harmon Killebrew - $18
1959 Topps #563 - Willie Mays All-Star - $69
1968 Topps #230 - Pete Rose - $29

At the very least, I'm out $371 in cards alone (+ fees = $453). Take into consideration that my research on completed listings included non-graded cards, I think I can conservatively account for 1.5X or 2X the amount (after all, that's why I'm getting them graded and they were in great shape!!!!!)

That brings the total to somewhere between $557 and $742
Plus sub and shipping fees were $82

That means I'm out somewhere between $639 and $824.......barebones minimum of $453

Just explain to them the situation. I think this would all end quickly if the cops showed up at his door

I had one card in the submission. One of my best cards I own. I basically have been trying to collect the entire 1991 Chipper Jones rc's in a PSA 9 or 10. I almost have the set completed and this was my final card! I wont be able to afford another Tiffany anytime soon. I thought this was a sure graded 9 or better too. Pretty upset and this whole situation has pretty much killed my love of the hobby.

1991 Chipper Jones Topps Tiffany RC : Value $75

Has any Mod been able to reach him and received any type of response? Anyone live near this clown? I'm not in this one, but it pains me to see this happening to fellow members.

WTF does this guy think he is? Enough is enough with this thread. Someone who knows how needs to start the legal measures necessary IMO. This hobby doesn't need this $hit.

Well, I've debated whether to post or not for a few weeks, as I told Talmer he was a big boy and could handle it himself. We've gotten to be pretty good friends over the past year, or so I think/thought. I don't want him to have to deal with anymore issues, so I'll share what I know and hope it keeps people from involving the police in hopes that it doesn't cause any more issues for Talmer or anyone else.

Let me be clear, I'm not taking his side. I've already told him he needs to clear everything up.

A few weeks ago he emailed me b/c I was his secret santa for the MT and he wanted to thank me for his gift. I had not heard from him, like everyone else for weeks and weeks. He said that he had no intentions of ripping anyone off, and that several things had gone on. First, people kept backing out on what they said they'd send causing him to miss the initial date and deal AND delaying the sub. This caused him to be out of pocket $150-200. Second, just like the psa dna sub, people were paying shipping non gift causing more out of pocket for shipping. On top of everything his mother had a life or death emergency medical situation and I still don't know the outcome of her surgery. He seemed to have so much on his plate w/ this that he didn't have the time or desire to deal w/ anything cards, until the sub popped, which again would be much later than expected due to the late sub due to everyone backing out. I hope he doesn't get mad about me posting as I told him I wouldn't say anything b/c he could handle his own situation, but I'm hoping to save everyone some time and grief. Again, I'm not making excuses for him, as I told him to take some time to explain and most people would understand, but I assume he's got what he thinks is too much to deal with. I honestly think everyone will get their cards, but I understand if people decide to take action. He has a 47 bond bread musial auto of mine that I'm confident I'll get back myself. Hope this helps.

I understand that things happen in life, but sometimes the way you react significantly increases the scope of the issue. A big issue seems to be that some people committed to sending cards and didn't come through, causing him to be short the threshold of cards needed to qualify for the sub. At that point, all he had to do was be forthright and explain the situation and mail everyone's cards back to them and refund the money, and then he's out very little money, if any at all. I don't feel sorry for him for being out $150-200 out of pocket, because it was his poor reaction to the situation that led to it. All he had to do was mail the cards back and say "sorry folks, couldn't make it happen"

Having said that, I hope his mom is OK and that he comes through all of this OK. He's obviously a good guy, as although I don't know him, i do know some of the good people that vouched for him. I hope everyone gets their stuff back, and I think they will.

He had plenty of time to post in between the first two excuses. And I am a bit confused why would return shipping need to be gifted before the sub was even done? And how this effects anything. Sounds like more excuses. There seems to be one serious excuse and 2 more thrown on top.

The FCB Group sub has you pay for all shipping upfront. Not sure why you would do it any other way. I have no dog in the fight, but it sounds like he had it right in that regard.

So here is what I'm thinking. At this point, I am willing to give until the end of January. That will essentially be 3 months since stuff was due to him, and even with any delays, should have been plenty of time for PSA to process it. If we receive no response or update, and nothing posts on the PSA population reports, I think we have no choice but to get in touch with his local police.

lmk your thoughts if you were involved. Would appreciate a PM if you were willing to take on the role of leading these issues and willing to get in touch with the police where Talmer lives

Mike

Edit: New thought per the mods. Give it until the end of today (supposed pop date) and if no contact or appearance in population report, send him one final email notifying him that if he doesn't get in touch with any of us, we will have no choice but to get in touch with his local PD

I am really sorry all of this went down.

If I can assist in any way please let me know. Attempts made by me to get things done have produced limited results.
