I don't see it as unreasonable at all.It my line of work things are done the same way.If you give us all your business your discount is greater. If not we will still give you a discount just not as great as what you could get had you chose to do all your business with us.matfanofold said:cgilmo said:PSA wanted all of the Fcb sub or none of it.
This is a demand one makes when you have little interest in doing business with someone. You shoot out unreasonable terms that either work out overwhelmingly well in favor of the merchant or you dismiss the customer all together. As I stated earlier, it should be considereed a slap in the face (from what I am reading/understanding).
EDIT: I'd just like to add that I only know what was made available here to read. There may be more to the story or somethings taken out of context so I can only comment in a generally speaking mannor on what i have read. Having said that, and after giving it some more thought, this may be a case where PSA simply knows (thinks) that they will be getting the members business one way or another either way. Also, they may be banking on the notion that gilmore is unwilling to really burn any bridges with regards to not only the website but his store as well. Either way, I still feel it was a shady thing to do...

But I view it as one that is impossible for this board to comply with.
I have two conclusions from this process. First, if I can avoid doing business with and/or buying and selling PSA cards in the future, I will....
I think that is completely understandable especially when the majority of this board is geared toward modern cards.masonphillip said:cgilmo said:I do not view PSA's request as unreasonable.

Agreed, the last 3 months of BGS subs have been near or above 450 cards each, so to scrap all that and start something new doesn't work for any of us.

the posting that 450 cards a month that are sent to BGS in a "group effort" here on FCB is supposed to impress PSA, it simply does not. If that number were 4,500 cards a month, then PSA might listen.

chompsmcgee said:I don't feel that this is a sense of entitlement thing from the boards. It's not about saying to PSA, "oh you guys made a huge mistake by passing on our business". Rather, it's "hey PSA, any goodwill toward your company is now lost on a majority of FCB members". FCB is brimming with hardcore collectors who are truly the backbone of this hobby. For PSA to scoff at the same hobbyists who essentially make up their business is doing nothing but building more brand loyalty towards BGS.
I'm sure they won't cry about not getting the 450 subs we'd bring in per month, but from a business perspective I feel as if they fail to grasp what FCB actually represents. ...

You do seem to say here that the board is entitled to something.

That must be the reason they returned my 2 card submission.
Dear Mr. Hofmann,
You need to submit more than 4,500 cards at a time in order for us to me impressed.
Sincerely,
PSA
