I have a good feeling about this. I'd hope he can at least bat .300 and drive in 5 runs considering the last 10 games...

Phillies (1)
Mets (3)
Cubs (3)
Houston (3)

Baring a miracle, it will be fruitless stats and the Cardinals will have missed the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years and the next news Albert will make will be in regards to his free agency negotiations. I wish we were following this personal achievement under better circumstances.
If the Cards manage to get the Wild card does Albert win the MVP award? I would like to see that.

Re: Pujols at .304 and 97 rbi. Will he get .300, 30, 100?

In the back of my mind, I still keep thinking this guy and the numbers he has put up in his career can't be for real.

However, it is impressive that despite injuries and somewhat of a slow start, Pujols has actually had a fine season in 2011 - not his best work but who complains about a .300, 35, 100 guy?

I doubt it, lets be honest Pujols was expected to have stats like this, The MVP of the cards this year would have to be Lance Berkman. Nobody saw this coming, and without him who knows where the cards would be. He was that extra bat that people didnt see coming. Everyone knew to expect descent numbers from Holliday and big numbers from Pujols. But no one could have expected these big numbers from berkman

I agree. Pujols isn't even the MVP of his own team. If it wasn't for Berkman when Pujols was struggling, the Cards would not be even in the hunt.

.301/37/98
octavio (former astro who the cards kicked his ass regularly) dotel blows a chance for a tie with 2 left.

Maybe Pujols should stop at 3rd for once and maybe LaRussa leaves Berkman in the game if he knows he's going to bunt him over anyway...

One game left and at exactly .300 with 98 rbi.
It would be cool to see him do it.

Re: Pujols at .300 and 98 rbi with one game left!

Here's the math:

Pujols's average is currently .29965 (172/574). To maintain an official .300 season...

He needs one hit more if he gets between 1-3 more at bats.
He needs two more hits if he gets between 4-6 more at bats.
He needs three more hits if he gets between 7-10 more at bats.

If the Cards are tied with the Braves after today, game 163 stats go as REGULAR SEASON stats, which is why I figured it out to 10 ABs.

Alex Rodriguez had 28 HRs and 93 RBIs going into the final day of the 2009 season, while trying to extend his 30-100 streak to 12 seasons. He ended up 2 HRs and 7 RBIs in that last game, finishing with exactly 30 HRs and exactly 100 RBIs.

In case you were wondering about Matt Kemp's chances to win the triple crown, his batting average would jump to .330 with a 5-5 day.

However, even an 0-6 day for Jose Reyes would still leave him with a .332 BA, so Kemp will not win the third piece of the Triple Crown.

Was talking about this at work today. Does it matter if they play a 163rd game? I think not but I'm sure someone will say it's not legit.
