Question about a Lemieux signed topps rookie

Cousin of mine just gave me his 84-85, 85-86, 86-87 Topps hockey sets. Each set has 20-30 autos, most being Flyers,Penguins and Bruins. I know they're legit because I was with him when most were signed. But he gave me a Mario signed Topps rookie on top of the one in the set. Is it worth getting slabbed and selling it? Looked at most his early year autos and this one is dead on. Only thing is it's in ballpoint pen and can't get it to scan. Will try at a friends house, he has a better scanner.

Any thoughts on value? Would rather trade it for something else since I have a non signed in the set.

I would definitely send it to PSA/DNA if you want to trade it or sell it. as for a value it will have a better trade or sell value in a PSA slab.

Dave, Thanks was looking at JSA's site and not PSA for info. Lucked out and will keep the non auto cards he gave me, will be slabbing all the rookies in the sets for my son. Hopefully can trade these autos to upgrade some of the rookies to higher grades.

This was also signed and didn't know it.

it looks and sounds like you got a great bunch of cards. you can never go wrong with 80's rookie cards.

Cards finally came back, Roy and Mario rookies came back authentic and graded 7's. Mario 2nd year came back authentic and graded 5. Turns out the Mario rookie is the highest grade topps rookie auto graded by psa. Guess if I was a registry collector, this woukd be insane and such. But it might get bayed now, maybe some player collectors will get into a battle for it.
