Got three back:

1) Pete Rose, unsigned because he hasn't signed at the address I sent too. Nice note from place though lol
2) Tom Bolton, wrong address, RTC
3) Jeff Kunkel, doesn't live at address any longer and forward had ended, RTC

In summary, I'm off to a GREAT start ::facepalm::

I only send the 1989 Topps card to these guys. Mainly because that is the only card I have of them. :lol:

I am late in getting caught up. All of these did not come today, but over the last couple of days.

I can't say I've done a lot of TTMing, but I've never had that happen. Of course I've never really had anything out of the ordinary happen except getting back what I've sent. I've never got a nice note back, or extra cards, or for that matter, and I'm sure I'm jinxing myself right now, I've never gotten back less than I've sent.

I've never got a nice note back, or extra cards, or for that matter, and I'm sure I'm jinxing myself right now, I've never gotten back less than I've sent.

That's hilarious because I've got back like 5 things and they've all been just random... the one back from Rose was a hand written note... Schmitdt sent me a different card signed.... one dude signed an index card I had in the envelope as something to just hide the autograph... couple returned to senders LOL...

Maybe I've got all the random out of my system... now it's time to turn over some autographs. Been gone for 4 days, so hope there is some stuff in the mailbox when I get home.

It's not terribly uncommon to get a different card. I think some players (especially bigger name players) probably have a stack of signed cards and when requests come in they, or someone, just puts in one of the already signed cards in place of what's been sent.

As for signing the index card, not uncommon at all. In fact, I usually include an index card for that reason.

And some players will keep cards, or only sign a certain number. All common things within the TTM-world.
