If the Big Unit feels good, he'll have a pretty good season in that park. This gives the Giants two of the most interesting pitchers in recent baseball history. A nearly 7' tall fireballer who went from wild to one of the best ever, and another flamethrower who's tiny, with funky mechanics, who's one of the best now.

This is good for guy's like Lincecum who if he has his head on right will listen to what Randy has to say about pitching and life. After 300 wins Randy need to hand em up. He is a 1st ballot hofer all the way.

I'm pretty sure they don't have much to lose, especially since they have been a sub .500 team 4 years in a row. And heck, he will have a better season then two of their starters...I think it will turn out alright

they almost hope he takes a while to get to 300, ride the fans they get from the chase (like they did with bonds) and maybe trade him to a contender for a playoff push?

We shall see if the Big Unit can contribute to the Giants. 9-10 wins is what i would expect at the most.

I sincerely wish Randy the best success in San Fran. With everything he has done for this organization, it's a shame to see the Diamondbacks couldn't make a better offer. He had a very good season for a 44 year old last season, and I look forward to the day he gets #300 and becomes the D-backs first Hall of Famer!
On the negative side, he will be mentoring Lincecum now. Though Webb has Schilling as well, and I always have heard Schill played a big role in mentoring Webb. I'm not even sure how much better Lincy can get!

I remember when the Mariners said he was washed up and in pain alot.. they traded him to Houston where he went lights out the rest of the year and won a few CY Youngs along the way..

I would love to see Randy pitch when they play the Mariners in the Interleague games..

Great signing IMO. People ignore that Randy was very good last season, and the Ks just keep on coming.

I think it was a good signing. I think he started 30 games last season. For 1 year he is fine, just a bridge for Mad Bum and Alderson :)
