Saw on ESPN that Adam Schefter is reporting that the deal will be finalized Wednesday.

That could be the biggest deal of this decade. Wow. Simmons has already removed the original tweet, but does have a few remarks post-mistake regarding it.

Bill Simmons of ESPN is reporting, sort of, the existence of rumors regarding a trade that would send receiver Randy Moss from the Patriots back to the Vikings.

Wow.

Making the situation even more intriguing is the fact that Simmons inadvertently put the information on his Twitter page at a time that he was intending to send out the information as a direct message only.

Let the chase begin.

Sorry that last tweet was supposed to be a DM. Rumors swirling about a Pats-Minny trade for Randy Moss.

I am a moron with twitter on blackberry, that's the 4th time I tried to DM someone and it came out as a tweet. Might be time for Tweet Deck.

As far as DM accidents go, that was a 3 on the Ray Allen Scale. Sorry. Hate passing along rumors, that's why I was DM-ing for info.

Re: Randy Moss to Minnesota Rumors!?!? Wow.

Just saying - Last night they had shots of him at the end of the game.....this is my interpretation, but he looked like someone pissed off he didn't have a catch and had his catch streak broken than someone who was happy his team won the game.

I really would not be surprised if it came out that he made comments about that or was upset......and we know individual vs. team doesn't really fly well with the Pats. Or I could be completely off base and they got an offer they couldn't refuse......since he was probably gone after the year anyway.

Re: Randy Moss to Minnesota Rumors!?!? Wow.

The Patriots are reporting there is no trade....but they haven't said they aren't talking.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... -no-trade/
Rumor quickly became reality on Tuesday night, with FOX's Jay Glazer reporting that the Patriots are close to shipping receiver Randy Moss back to the Vikings.

Now, the Minnesota and Boston media are pursuing the story like Homer chasing a chocolate-filled Uter with a wet towel.

Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots are saying "there is no trade." In this regard, conjugation could be critical. They're not saying "there will be no trade." They're only saying "there is no trade." And Glazer hasn't reported that there "is" a trade.

Rapoport also reports that he's told a trade is not "done," but he confirms that a trade is being discussed.

Albert Breer, formerly of the Boston Globe and now with NFL Network (congrats, by the way, Mr. Breer) reports that "no one is shooting this down, when given the chance to" and "omething's happening."

So stay tuned. We'll be on this thing all night if need be.

After all, that kid has bosoms.

He already said he wont resign with the Pats at the end of this season, so why not trade him now and get something for him.

It's not individual vs. team as much as it is simple economics. The Patriots look at every player they have as if he were an asset and run cost/benefit on 'em. They'll trade anyone for any reason if they feel like they can get more than what they feel he's worth. I can understand why players get upset because no one likes openly knowing that they're nothing more than an asset. Everyone wants security and Moss is no different.

Re: Randy Moss to Minnesota Rumors!?!? Wow.

Belichick loves his draft picks, and his defensive depth chart shows that. They're clearly trying to build a young team for the future. Moss is getting older, and in true Randy Moss fashion, he has tired of where he is...like in Oakland. It's only a matter of time before he starts giving his less than honest effort on the field. So I do agree Belichick should get something while he can, because he's not going to get full effort the whole season, and a mindless follower like he wants from his players.

That could be one fine receiving corp in Minnesota when Rice comes back.

This has to please a ton of Vikings fans who didn't throw out their Moss jerseys, and kind of makes his rookies a little more collectible for fans since he's pictured as a Viking.

They got incredible value on Seymour last year, but they also gave away a Superbowl run. I think they're doing the same thing this year, but anyone that has Brandon Tate will certainly be happy.

He never said that, in fact he said he wants to be here, but doesn't think the team will try to sign him since that's not how they work.

I've heard reports that it is a third rounder. A third rounder is really worth giving up the production of Moss the rest of the year? Not saying they don't do that with their players.....but they do it with players that are either most likely past (or on the verge) of past their prime and/or insolent.
I really don't think they'd trade Welker at this point for any amount of draft picks. Nor would they have traded Moss two years ago. I find it hard to believe this is simply a coincidence that this is all happening the day after Moss goes without a reception in a game.

Moss' agent actually informed them either during or right after week 1 that he wanted a trade, so New England may have been in secret talks with other teams earlier. To trade him for a third rounder does seem like a bad exchange, but I guess it's better than having a distraction and somebody who might not give his all.

Re: Randy Moss to Minnesota Rumors!?!? Wow.

I just read that now Card Magnet - guess he may have asked about it a few weeks ago. Maybe last night was the breaking point then....Everyone was smiling happy and they panned to him - and he just looked pissed off and had that look on his face like he was plotting how he could get out of the situation.

Watching Sports Center now and this seems like almost a one deal. Time to list Eddelman RC?
