I've worked a lot with ebay ID poko98 on these, though he is the classic extorter (oh, you need that? let me jack up the price) and reclusive, I've gotten a good idea of what is out there.

Just in case: Introductions are in order.

To the 90's Crew: This is Chris Kurdelski (I'm not 'outing' him as he's well-known in hobby circles) and an invaluable resource for extremely rare cards. Many of the rarely seen cards I have, and others who have posted in this thread, originally came from him and his resources. I suspect many of you have already dealt with him over the years.

Just thought I'd smooth over any rough edges. ;)

Agreed, I have bought a lot of 1997 Mirrors and such from him.

Were there any decent inserts before 1993?

Donruss Elite from 91 & 92 and the UD Heroes Autos

I opened so many cases of Donruss from those years and never pulled an Elite, the Autos were (still are) to die for imho.

Ever do something special and, for whatever reason, didn't know it - or much less how to appreciate it?

Had no idea what an "Elite" was or how difficult it was when I bought 10 packs and busted an Andy Van Slyke. <shaking head>

I put it aside - no cheer, no nothing. Didn't realize that I had just hit the jackpot and dumbly put it into a soft sleeve and went on my merry way. It wasn't until a couple years had passed, becoming a more informed collector, that I realized how stunningly lucky I was.

Still wish I could relive that moment with a fresh mindset.

Hey guys - I saw a bit in the thread on 1990's "Game Cards" today

I've worked a lot with ebay ID poko98 on these, though he is the classic extorter (oh, you need that? let me jack up the price) and reclusive, I've gotten a good idea of what is out there.

There are some legit companies that make these (most of those mentioned by gracecollector), and a few cards that are printed "as demand merits" - ie, even historical seasons are printed today

I've put together a "game card master" to help with my Griffey collection. Back when I'd sell on the bay, I bought a lot of these sets, hoping player collectors would catch on, but they never did.

Any way, I'd be happy to send my list along to all interested parties. Chris

PS - one more thing, I love seeing your awesome cards, but can we all agree to keep large images out of our signatures? the page gets cluttered

Great site, magicpapa needs to be added to your Griffey HOF section of your site. There are quite a few others on this site that have awesome Griffey collections as well.

I have purchased a number of Andruw Jones oddball cards from you over the years, if you still have some left, I would be interested in seeing a list.

Dont forget those Ultra Rookie Sensations - they were on fire for over a year. Only in the retail jumbo packs.

I too opened TONS of '92 Donruss. Only pulled 1 Elite. It was a Puckett that I still own.

Hey all - I just google doc'ed the game card list I came up with to assist in my Griffey Collection. Here is the link:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key= ... vV1E&hl=en

I've let you all EDIT the list - could you propose new sets I've missed at the bottom in red or some other gaudy color???

I have pics available of most years

(93 different Griffey Game Cards)

Have fun collecting,

Thx Lance - I always seem to forget that introduction part... :D

I'm going to slowly let information ooze out of me as appropriate. I'm eager to learn from you as well. Looking forward to it y'all - Chris

The top card (front/back) was in one bay auction, and the bottom card was in another auction.
Does anyone know this card? Are these both the same card design? Why did one scan jeter light/ pettite dark, and the other scan jeter dark/pettitte light?
Also, does anyone know print run (not listed in beckett)?

That's only cause I haven't sent my two in

Kidding aside, those are great grades for those. I'm gonna be sending in my gold holo soon; hopefully it grades as well.
